I use Gillette Fusion Power Phenom. Oh yeah, do you prefer shaving cream or shaving gel? I would prefer shaving cream.

I just cut my facial hair with a very sharp pair of scissors as close to the skin as possible - razor blades can be pretty pricey for what they are, and I don't like the clean shaven look. The only problem is that I always incur several cuts to my neck, oh and it takes me about half an hour to do.

I use an electric razor .

It hurts, takes ages, but I'd otherwise be carving my face up with a razor. What I especially like is you can get on with other things while shaving electrically, like browsing the web, watching TV, makes it less of a chore if you have to shave every day.

Benjamin, that's bloody crazy!
Why not get an electric razor and use the sideburn trimmer. When I leave it for a few days, I just use the trimmer, and it leaves it quite neat, then I quickly go over it with the shaver head. Using the trimmer must be a better option than a pair of scissors!

You forgot to answer this question I posted. Do you prefer shaving cream or shaving gel? If razors cut you, get the newest Gillette Fusion Power Phenom, because it has the minimum amount of cuts you can get from shaving.

@ Benjamin, are you Jew, because Jews are restricted to use razors and can only cut their facial hair with scissors.

Cost.

A trimmer would probably be a better option really, I guess better than cutting small slices of your skin off when you're not careful. Hmm...

Quote: "@ Benjamin, are you Jew, because Jews are restricted to use razors and can only cut their facial hair with scissors."

No, but hey I guess that option is open for me if I ever want it.

Well I don't think Benjamin used gel or foam with his scissors, and I don't either with my electric, so its a moot point

I'm still on twin blades. It was cutting edge a few years ago. Don't really see the point in getting a shave *that* much closer seeing i only do it every few days anyway.

Unless I have to be clean shaven for an interview or something I just use dubbers/clippers for hair & face. When I have to be clean shaven I use just about any razor and any gel/foam - takes 10 minutes and rarely cut myself. Even at my age(31) my skin is soft and I think thats why I suffer fewer cuts even though I used to shave with razers everyday. I have tried electric shavers but they tend to give me a bit of a rash and spots.

I'm more than old enough to shave, but do I? No. Why? I have difficulty growing facial hair. When I was 15 two years ago, I still hadn't grown even a hint of a mustache! Now I do have a bit of a hint of one, but now I'm afraid of sharp objects...

Oh, and I think I'll use shaving gel. As that's what my parents got me for Christmas...along with a razor....*sigh*.

I use a disposable Bic Comfort 2 Pluss and don't see the point in shaving foam, cream or gel. Wet-shaving is far less wasteful and far quicker in the shower.

Although I don't know why I'm shaving, I'm the same age as Yodaman Jer who barely has a hint of a mustache. - Me, I get stubble in a day or so... :S

Someone just started shaving then Indiana?

I use a machete and a bowl of crushed glass, closest shave ever.

Or when thats not available i'm still using a mach 3, i don't need any of this fancy vibrating closer shave balls.

I'll finish them whenever i can be bothered.

I think that the guy who wrote the AUP clearly doesnt mind anyone who is 13 or above to show their age. I hate it when even MODs go against the AUP and make up their own rules, and there is nothing that us users can do about it.

I think that the AUP is completely useless if the MODs decide to change the rules without even editing the AUP.

I always thought that the only rules were in the AUP. There are obviously alot more that we are not aware of and get slapped/banned for breaking.

Well, I guess that ill see you guys in a few weeks/years when my ban is over (although that may have not done the trick). I just hope that the MODs just read that, it will probably wont change them a bit.

Either that or he works for Gillette.

I used to fart about with gel and razors and all the guff but now I just buzz it off and make do. I prefer the stubble look to clean shaven anyway. Making a decent job of it with a wet razor can be quite therapeutic.

We are talking about facial hair right? Or am I supposed to take the sharpest blade in my house to the wrinkliest bit of skin on my......... never mind.

It's always a treat to visit and read the important issues here in the GC forum. I use a combination of electric razor(with attachments) and the cheapest plastic disposable razors you can buy(Bic, I think... my wife gets them) since I tend to cultivate on my face what grows naturally on my butt. As for shaving cream, I usually run the razor over a bar of soap and use it to straighten the edges.

On a related issue, what toilet paper do you use?

Best.

I have a huge fan, the size of my wall in my room that spins so fast, it blows the hair right off of me. It's annoying though, because sometimes head hair goes along for the ride as well...

I use disposable Bic ones like xplosys. No shaving cream or gel. Hurts like anything.

Quote: "well, Jekus made up rules that dont work with the AUP"

They're not just my rules as many of the other mods have been asking people not to reveal their ages. And I never banned anyone from doing that! And to think, that rule is only there to protect you. If you don't frankly like how we do things around here, then feel free to leave and come back when you grow up.

Funny, I haven't asked anyone to not say their age in a long time.

And you're not banned, I just checked. What is your problem?

You seem to miss the point that Venge was trying to make. I'll repost what Venge quoted:

Quote: "3.17 Our forums are moderated by both TGC employees and trusted non-paid members of the public who volunteer their services and time for the benefit of the community. It is a generally accepted netiquette standard that if you under 18 you don't post your age on the internet, anywhere. It's just common sense in today's day and age.

------------

I use a Schick Quattro Titanium Freestyle razor and trimmer in one... it's a pretty good razor...I was using a Gillette Fusion Power, which I wasn't that impressed with...

As for shaving cream/gel I use neither because they react badly with my skin... So I go old school and use a shaving stick and brush...

EDIT - slow typing strikes again

Why dont you add that to the AUP? Everyone reads that (well should), so it will stop people from doing it.

I suppose that ill never come back... Right now, I dont want to live a day longer. Im so [mod edit] NO [/mod edit] up right now that I can barely think. Why does everyone hate me? I did nothing wrong. All I do is stand in the corridoors at school and have names called at me, noone cares about me. Why should I live if this is how its gonna be?

I fail.

Sometimes my Gillette Fusion, more often a razor that came in a cheap 12-pack. It takes more time but I can get just as good of a shave. No shaving cream, just warm water.

Edit: Apparently it takes kaedroho just as much time to go insane as it does for me to type three sentences.

How very, very random.

If the occasion is ever met, I kidnap Nixon, yes, now bare with me, I get a group of hippies...and a oil drinking Texan stereotype, and get them into a room and I stand in the middle...within about 10 minutes, the hippies are oil dead and the Texan is jumping mad for oil and somewhere in this process I am clean shaven, I am unsure as to why, but it's just one of those mysterious things about the world.

The age thing keeps coming up. Honestly, I'd add it to the AUP. Just to silence them.

In any case, I usually shave with my electric razor, although every month I use a Gilette razor, don't know the name, to really be clean shaven. Usually do that on friday, so that by monday everything looks a bit rough again.

I never, ever, touch my goatee except to trim it.

My thoughts exactly!

I use scissors as well, I used to shave with the "Gillette fusion power" with just water, but the blades just cost so much I just left it at that.

For some reason, its actually cheaper to buy a new razor with "4 free blades" than just 4 blades on its own (At least it was when I used to buy them, not sure about it now).

I'd say it comes under this part of the AUP:

Quote: "3.17 Our forums are moderated by both TGC employees and trusted non-paid members of the public who volunteer their services and time for the benefit of the community. By using our forums you automatically agree that they cannot be held personally responsible for any actions arising from these forums. As for putting '18' into the AUP, the mods don't have the power to add rules and TGC staff can't always be on the bomb on how the forum is best moderated.

Sometimes decisions have to be made based on situation and moderation can be relative, thus not 'all' rules can be written, thus a moderator must make it their job to enforce the rules, just because a mod tells you 'not to post your age' and removes it, then that's not them 'telling you off' and you're not being put down, but rather they're just making sure your age is not given.

I don't know how you guys can use scissors... i'd end up hacking my cheeks to bits.

Anyway, I just use a standard, no-name razor and shaving cream. As for electric razors... I don't see a point to them, it only takes me a few minutes to shave manually.

That's me. I've been shaving like that once a week for 11 years almost. I have never once tried a regular razor. Bought an electric to shave for my sister's wedding when I was 18 and never used anything else.

The thing with electrics is your skin has to get used to them, and that takes months usually, but once that's over with you can get away with just a once-over every day, which only takes a couple of minutes.
It's when you try and shave a weeks growth off that it starts to hurt. It's not a close as a wet shave, but it's pretty decent, and no chance of chopping bits of your face off - I really don't miss wet shaving .
