IE 8.1 will use WebKit and Gecko rendering engines, and will support Firefox plugins

(From March 31st but obviously there's no way it can be true considering the other stuff on that page)

Looks just like a frog tadpole to me.

I wondered about the "sniffer rat" item on the BBC news this morning.

Google introduce CADIE:

http://www.google.com/intl/en/landing/cadie/index.html

Check out the CADIE homepage and the Google Chrome in 3D links on that page to the left. lulz.

Edit: It appears that CADIE has improved google image search too!

Quote: "Hi everybody. So, I've been scouring the web looking for images that everyone in the world will like, and I'm just so excited about these.

I love them! I hope you do too!

XOXOXO,
CADIE

P.S. Did you see that last one? Both rainbows and unicorns!"

That youtube 'hoax' is priceless, as in worthless, as in WTF!

A hoax is an elaborate tale intended to misguide someone into believing something that is fabricated. Youtube showing videos upside down is far from a hoax, it's a childish annoyance that only the most unimaginative marketing gimp would come up with.

They should have done a dozen subtle things instead, things that you might not pick up on right away, like have some featured 'spoof' videos, fake video footage of giant muppets like we had last year for no reason. Turning things upside down is retarded, boring, and it makes my blood boil.

My Pocket Pets DLC for Fable II

Almost convincing (since it's complete with interview etc.) but the dollar charge and rather unconvincing image at the bottom let it down

Bad day?
Well I though the upside down thing was funny. And the perverse humour for the 'help' message was quite cool too.

My Dad pulled one at work, he said that yesterday all of the planets were aligned, so if you straight a set of pencils on a flat desk, they will soon roll off due to the changing magnetism of the planet. The person tried it and waited a few minutes staring to see if it would happen.

Before now he's convinced people that he had the top half of his leg amputated but not the bottom half.

the blizzard jokes are pretty good
I wasnt sure if the D3 one was just a joke or not, until I saw the last video.
The starcraft 2 one is pretty good, but the WoW joke is gold.

I got duped by the pretty convincing NIN one (with realistic Twitter build up too)

http://bit.ly/QtDzR

Mainly because I was in such a rush to fill in email details I didn't read anything on the page (The epileptic strobe light + track names and cheesy synth music was a give away looking back)

Regarding the YT thing: I did notice that all of the featured videos were to do with upside down things, David Blaine, tarte tatin, handstands.
Still, it is bloody annoying.
Thinkgeek are good at this, i remember the 8 bit tie, which they ended up producing because so many people wanted one, amazing.

I'll finish them whenever i can be bothered.

Does no one realize that there's a "revert" button that changes it back to normal?

My favorite still is when Slashdot switched to their pink "omg ponies" theme a few years ago.

I thought it was great when Richard Davey made the TGC forum into a custom Google search site, with the pyramid logo and everything. Threw a lot of people off

@Jeku

I remember that, and he had a log for how many tries each user took until they figured out all they had to do was type "dark basic" to get in. I swear I got it the first time

Hmm. Dead pixels. There's one on my DS screen, and I hate it. However, I've started to look to that pixel for guidance when I'm stuck in a part of a game, and I'll be all, 'oh, hello little dead, green pixel, please do so kind as to point me in the direction of the item I'm supposed to locate'. It's north. It's always north...*sigh*.

Boy, I need a life!
