Hey guys,
I have been making a website about programming and deving. It will have tutorials and tips on programming languages and software such as 3d modeling programs, image editing programs and other dev tools. Well anyway its explained on the homepage. http://www.shaunrw.webs.com
If anyone has time could you please comment on the idea, style and layout of the site.

thanks ShaunRW

Ok, so it's early days right now, I can see that, but what's going to be different about your site?

Maybe you can do something with DBC or DBPro with tutorials or tips that no-one's done before, but C++? Web coding (I see you missed CSS)? What's going to make you stand out from the crowd?

I'm not saying that you shouldn't do it, but you need to do it in such a way so as not to be just another website on page 99 of a google search.

Ya, I agree with IanM; unless you really know your stuff, there's no reason anyone is going to go to your site over somewhere like cplusplus.com. And you're really going to have to appearance of your site. White and red on black is very annoying IMO, and visited links turn purple and become hard to see. You could also improve your grammar quite a bit; you have a lot of i's where there should be I's, capital letters that should be lowercase or vice cersa (Graphics->graphics, i->I, paint.net->Paint.NET, microsoft word->Microsoft Word), misspellings (Blits3D->Blitz3D, it self->itself, there->their), misplaced commas (tutorials ,->tutorials,). You should replace the <---[ ShaunRW-Games ]---> at the top with a logo of some sort and consider changing the name into something that makes sense--it shouldn't be ShaunRW-Games if you're not going to have any games on it.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but really it will be very difficult to get any traffic at all unless you have a very well-laid-out, appealing, useful site. I suggest that you:

-Learn more about various programming languages, until you're at the point where you feel confident about explaining a large majority of its features in a lot of detail.
-Learn more about web design to the point where you can make an attractive web site that people will enjoy being at.
-And then come back and tell us about it.

YES!!! *fistpump*

I hate when people don't respect even themselves. i.e. Bad grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.

That's what they WANT you to think...

Thanks guys for the feed back, and i don't care if your are harsh because thats what i need to improve on things.
Yes it's only early days, hence spelling/grammar mistakes and annoying colors. The name will be change, it was just something i quickly thought of at the time.

This is one reason I'm doing this site, so i can get experience in developing and maintaining a website. And i figured that if I'm going to include tutorials on other languages, then it would also help my very own coding.

By the way, you might want to change your signature to link to your site, instead of Google.

how did that happen. I don't remember doing that lol.

Well thanks for the advice but i'm just going to improve the site and actually add some useful content before i do that.
