Here on TGC, we accept bad grammar, but not sloppy typing.

Cuz isn't sloppy typing. I say cuz all the time, but cause looks like I'm writing cause, as in cause and effect. So I would write cuz.

Everybody can see this. Specifically:

Quote: "14. Please Avoid Shorthand ('Text Speak')

This is a forum and you are using a computer. Note that it doesn't say 'Nokia' on the side of it so it's not a phone!

Joking aside, text speak, although not specifically classed as 'not allowed' by the AUP, can be difficult for some people to read.

Unlike phone text messages, there's no limit to the number of characters you can type in a post on a forum, so there's no real reason to use it.

Bad spelling and grammar is something entirely different and others shouldn't pull you up over it. But 'ur', 'u', 'wot', 'l8r' and all the other endless possibilities should be avoided for the benefit of others."

But if we all went around spelling things only as they are grammatically correct, we'd all sound like robots. In real life, I say cuz for because and gonna for going to, so I type like that too, as I'm sure GJ does too.

I get textspeak in E-mails at work from time to time. The students seem think will deal with their problems if its in textspeak. I don't have time to decode the textspeak I have better things to do and leave it. Usally they complain to the tutors after a while. I show the tutor the message and then point out I deal with English only not brainless feckwit.

I see textspeak on an E-mail as the person being lazy or just is too dumb to write words properly. Why should I help someone who can't be assed to ask properly. Mind you if its on the phone I don't mind its expected as the text message with the limited amount of text. This forum and E-mails have no such limits so please use the whole langage.

I'll add something later on.

I don't disagree with you when it comes to text speak, that's just a pain to try to read, but I don't think we should all be completely formal at all times either.

@sprite
I believe it would be useful if Google provided some sort of translator for it. They would make tens of dollars from it.

I still wouldn't help them even if I did understand it.

Its a matter of you have left school welcome to university and the real world. I mean if you where a work would you send an E-mail thats unreadable. You would be classed as the office idiot.

When I'm bored and have nothing to do I send them an E-mail asking them to take English courses.

I'll add something later on.

I wouldn't play any game made by Korea if you had to register and go through membership crap just to play it.

If it doesn't, I'd play it.

Having played both, Combat Arms is way better.

Unfortunately, so is Combat Arms. I am thankful that you can now "report" people for abuse of the game. Room "leaders" also have the power to kick people out of a room, but only if they buy the "Elite Moderator" from Nexon for a week for about 3 bucks. Why do you have to pay for something that should be included?

That's what they WANT you to think...
