Are there pages you go to, only to click out of again, because they where say all text, or just to many pictures so you spend 5 mins waiting for it to down load, or its click to see this, then click again ther again to see something never go there direct.

things like that.

I'm pretty sure that he's asking us all to post the aspects of websites that we hate.

I hate any background music, sound effects (for example, when rolling over buttons), embedded videos which automatically play, and any popups.

EDIT: Posted same time HowDo.

Sites that force you to register just to read content.
Sites with full page ads that require you to wait before redirecting you to the page you actually wanted to see.

Basically, if you put something in my way more substantial than clicking on the link in google, I take my viewing elsewhere.

Quote: "is it one where there's no back button"

No, just the reverse. There's already a back button on the browser, so why break that and then add your own.

I also agree with Veron's list.

Totally forgot about that one, it annoys the hell out of me when i'm looking for the solution to fixing something, I find the solution in the search engine... and i'm greeted with "Sorry, but you must register on our forums to view content."

Don't forget sites with a counter that says "NO! u cant downloadLOL! u havnt payeded me ur monys so u cant download u must wait 15mins for [insert inane reason for justifying the counter's presense]XD!".

Ads that follow you when you scroll, and offensive green card ads that keeps telling me my country is S**t.

Ads that aren't popups, but are banners that open up and get in your way of everything.

That's what they WANT you to think...

Lack of a clear structure, it should be easy to navigate a site.

What I really hate are those ads that says "You are the 999,999th visitor!" or "You WIN!" or any other bogus, cash-prize scams.

I hate anything automatic; popups music videos, If I wanted it I would have clicked it!
I think good presentation is just like in a magazine, you want it to be clean and clear without all sides screaming at you, but you can have interesting things dotted about the place but they have to have some sort of relevance like how TGC have links to similar products on the side.
Spelling and grammar are HUGELY important, it makes anything you write so much more credible.

Are you making a website or just curious

can't read?

I want to reaffirm the hate of websites with full page "you will be redirected" type ads, and the "you must register to view content" sites. Sometimes the latter is appropriate...but many times it's used when it's not. Also, I greatly prefer websites with a simple, clean layout. For websites that are the opposite of this preference...you could just about pull up any random Yahoo Geocities website...and there you go.

The ones I really hate are the 20 scroll page first page and the most upto date post is at the bottom.

Also that web text that pops up to tell you the name of the picture or something just because you're hovering over it.

the list is coming on, I'll so know whats not liked.
