This came up in a topic in GDK ages ago and I just remembered and there were quite a few people who seemed to know some pi.
I recently learnt another 5 decimal places of pi to make it 50. Not because it was more useful than 45, but its round.
Me and my friend also started to learnt it in binary a few weeks ago. If you can offer me a situation when that will be useful I think I will be content enough to die.

3.141...
underwhelming.

Someone in my year knew pi to around 50 d.p., and had it as his password (with one decimal changed to trick people), it was quite odd watching him type it in.

I learned 15 digits in 7th grade (5 years ago) on a whim and still remember them.

I used to know around 120 but after a while I stopped reciting it so I'm down to 90ish.

i've never tried to memorize it.

@tom j
thats a really good idea for a password. Right now im using a similar easy-to-break password for most of my accounts, so i've been memorizing a couple different 12 digit/character passwords for when i have something i need to keep secure.

Think I used to know the 12 first, now it is down to the usual 3.14 (just stoped trying once, lol).

Do you know what the most boring book in the world is...?
J. Guilloud and M Bouyer,
1000 000 pi, commisariat à l'Énergie Atomique, 1974.

The 415 pages contain the first million decimal of pi.
In case it interests you the last 5 decimals in the book are : 58151

3. Because Pi is exactly 3.

If you round it down a bit.

I remember Googling this a few years ago. There is a 100 club, and a 1000 club. Plus a load of supernatural type rubbish. Personally I prefer beer and women (singular nowadays, although not for the beer obviously ).

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Steak and Kidney, Chicken and Mushroom, Steak and Ale, Beef and Onion, Cottage, Shepherds ... the list goes on.

Then there are all the dessert-type pies. At a guess, I can probably come up with 100's.

Mmmmmmmm! Pie. Pie. Pie. Pie. Pie. Pie. Pie. Pie.

More seriously, haven't you all got something better to do? Or shall I take the mickey out of you all a little more?
