Don't want to be mean, but:

Bill Gates is not the President of Microsoft. I believe he was the CEO of Microsoft, but not any longer.

Shigeru Miyamoto is not and was never the President of Nintendo. That title belongs to Satoru Iwata, whom I actually had the pleasure of meeting a few years back.

and HTML is a bit old tbh... i mean, just look at my username! i made this username up about 9 years ago or so (before I came to this forum). the new stuff to know is CSS, JavaScript, and PHP for web design.

and if you're putting HTTP up there, why not FTP? just as important for serving...

i really don't get the point in this thread

Why would we need to know the augmentation? Nobody cares if you know what they mean. There's a reason a website like Wikipedia was created.

Although, while it's true that it might be useful to know about these technical abbreviations and expressions, not to mention influential people, to some extent; I don't really give a crap.

But not everyone is affiliated to the equal opinions, which one has to accept and move on.

Anyhoot,
I realize my post is rather.. what's the word.. dis satisfactory?.. towards your expectations. Whereas I will stop writing now, while mentally trying to pierce in silence into your head a word of forgiveness as I prepare my grand escape: "Nothing Personal".

He's new here, so I'm assuming he's attempting to impress us in an effort to be accepted. Especially with his thread on binary.

Play 'The Simpsons' rules if you can't convince anybody to play with the urban-dictionary, we used to do it in our sixth form common room, basically as long as you can make up a definition it's a word, someone got 'Ozabo' which he defined as 'an Australian ASBO'. There's kwyjibo, which a friend almost got, he had enough to spell it wrong, I think kwyjibo is the word to get the most points.

(If this ever happened in a real game...wow!)

I always thought HTTP meant How To Take a Pee
and HTML meant How To Make Love
No wonder my love life hasn't improved even after I studied all that HTML.
