Hi everyone, this i a warning to you all.
I recently purchased the game, Frontlines: Fuel of War, after watching multiple videos on youtube and reading many reviews that praised it highly for its gameplay.

I installed it the day I bought it, as well as all of the updates. I then played the game throught the first five or six missions, before shutting down the computer. I then went to play it the next day, and when I loaded the game, the start glitched and repeated the one sound over and over again.

It turns out, after surfing the various posts on the forums of Gamespy, that many people also have this problem.

But even if you do buy this game and it works on your computer, also be aware of these bugs.

-SecuROM prevents backup of the image file with Clone CD and GameJackal (both legal back-up software)
-The hotfix which is supposed to correct this causses the game to crash
-After installing the hotfix and the next update, SecuROM once again does not allow the backup image to work
-The game crashes every two or three missions
-Online multiplayer servers are bugged and can rarely be accessed
-Upon load of a checkpoint, the gun does not show up, just a partial mesh of the hands, which looks like a blob
-Running on medium (even with a high-end rig) causes the game to lag and drop to 15 fps
-The chatter, gun shot, video and instructions sounds tend to lag or duplicate
-The patches often encounter problems while installing

So, to conclude, don't buy this game. Buy a decent game like Crysis, FEAR or Call of Duty. Or better yet, save your money for TGC Store items.

Cheers

Edit: I returned the game and got another copy of it, only to have the same problem, as well as on my friends computer when I tried to install it onto his.
So I returned it again and got Crysis Warhead lol

I hate this game so much, single player is too repetitive and the multiplayer is boring.

The first time I played Multiplayer, there was an annoying player that sprinted around you and meleed you, killing you instantly.

I liked the graphics and the first mission, if only they'd made a survival mode on that first objective, that'd made the game sooooo much better.

Argh I hate CD copy prevention software, I bought Stalker Clear Sky the other day and it won't run because it won't work with my DVD Drive. I read around and there is nothing you can do except get a new DVD drive, no thanks. I had to install it on the other PC so it runs like crap now x(

Copy the game files over the network or using a USB stick and install a no-cd patch. If their idiocy is preventing your legitimate use of the software, I think it's fully justifiable.

Well that is the thing that really annoys me, it installs fine which means that it is obviously reading data from the CD. But I am very (over)wary of using patches and cracks after infecting my PC with spyware from a keygen a while back (stupid mistake, I won't be making that one again )

Was this made with FPS Creator by any chance?

Best.

I have FFOW and here's what I think:

-Patching Sucks (takes forever plus huge download sizes - >500mb)
-SecurROM Sucks
-It crashed my wireless keyboard (idk how or why)
-Campaign is too short
-Online multiplayer isn't very good
-Crashed my computer once (actually a couple of times)
However,
-Gameplay is relatively fun (while it lasts)
-Excellent graphics
-Pretty good physics with beginning destructible environments
-Interesting next-gen technology

It sucks that it didn't work for you, guys, but I liked it while it lasted. In fact, I just played it the other day. Made sure to skip the amazingly boring "recon" mission.

That's what they WANT you to think...

Works fine for me- I've got all the updates and it runs pretty smoothly- but I did have that first securom thing which took ages to fix.

Multiplayer when I tried is non-existent but I think that singleplayer was actually really good. Although I found the sniper mission a bit annoying at how they always saw you really easily unlike cod4. Apart from that its great.

A PC game has BUGS!?

83% of women tested found Pus in Boots irresistable. (Based on a survey of 172 women.)

A <insert geographical region with mildly warm temperatures> has bugs?

but in all seriousness, you cannot say a game sucks because of bugs, especially on a PC; it may just b your own computer. I've played the game on the 360 (least the demo), I didn't find it too entertaining but it wasn't buggy......

my taste in music isn't weird, its just so amazing your ears haven't quite adapted to it yet.

The PC one is very buggy, but it seems it is also the disc as well. When i returned it to the store that I purchased it from, they said that there had been a couple of dozen people come in and return the game, because of errors and disc failure.

And I never said it sucked. I played it on 360 and bought it because I thought it was a lot of fun, I'm just saying to be very wary when buying the PC version, because it has a high chance of not working. And even after seeking technical support both over the phone and through email (which they never replied to) I still coould not get the game to work. As well as it being much harder to return a PC game, because the shop assistants may not believe that the game does not work, and that you copied it and then returned it.

I bought F.E.A.R. Files not long ago for Xbox 360 and the sound and graphics sucked for a 2007 game lol (I even had 1080i HDMI lmao), but the gameplay made up for it.

I'm not touching Crysis until we get the upgrade for the RAM for our PC, I dunno how it run on a 1GB RAM Vista HP lol, we only had about 376MB free before playing it .

Haha, nice FCV.
The sound and graphics may be because they tried to make the Files just like the first F.E.A.R game, which was made in 2005. Plus, Files is pretty much just a port from the PC version of the games so...yeah

I too suffer from 1GB RAMitis, but I'm running XP, not Vista. Crysis runs pretty good on my PC though. I hit the optimal settings button and it put all setting sto minimum, but I bumped them all up to mainstream, with the effects all set on gamer, without any slowdown

That's a weird question... You're not sure if you play it online allot? Why play it allot then if you keep forgetting you did it? Sounds allot like an awful waste of time. Allot.
