ARM chips/compatible motherboards
I was just wondering is it possible to buy these for installation into a standard pc. I know ARM chips are basically standard microprocessors and are used in most consumer electronics such as mobile phones, set-top boxes, games consoles, etc. they were also installed in acorns computer range (before they shut down) which ran a proprietary operating system... but is it possible to install them as x86 compatible processors for use with windows/linux.

I just wanted to know as i decided to do my bit to fight the recession and only buy british things to help out my country.

Leonardo Dicaprio is so hawt!!!

Linux can run on an ARM, but good luck getting standard consumer hardware to work with it (That is, with the processor / board, not Linux)

EDIT: Not very relevant to the question, but I still find it quietly amusing that the architecture that powered my games of Zarch during my childhood is now a huge, extremely prevalent microprocessor in so many devices. Wonder how well my iPod could play Zarch?
