does anybody know why mods lock topics that don't flame anyone or anything in a huge way, or isn't bait for anything. example, if somebody asks a question, somebody makes a stupid remark, another responds and clarifies, then all of a sudden topic locked. then another topic of that same question is created and that gets locked, nothing solved, space wasted.to me it just seems as if mods are abusing their powers a little too much

Another reason they may lock a thread is because there's already 3+ of the same exact thing. Or if it's just pointless and has no meaning whatsoever, they will lock it because it doesn't do anything to improve the community here.

To prevent degradation of the commonwealth.

In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

I think on the surface of things, your thread perhaps looked like you were trying to pirate software.
Then you posted 2 duplicates, which will result in an immediate lock.

I guess if nobody has V2 of the script you are looking for, I suggest waiting for the new one.

I can't shed any more light on the matter, as I wasn't the one responsible for your locks.

Well; in your case, you appear to be asking someone to upload another developer's IP. Even if you say the Dev said it's alright...doesn't mean it is. Continuing to post the same request thread repeatedly is also frowned upon.

The other reason is that mods have more to do than watch dubious threads. Moderating takes a lot of time and effort without adding to the task.

Your threads in FPSC Chat were locked thm120 because you asked for the same thing three times, do you think endlessly asking for something will make it happen? How many more threads were you going to make asking the same thing? 5? 10? 100? You asked, people responded, no point in asking again.

I'm guessing that was directed at me.

I fail to see how simply stating 'That doesn't make it free' is stupid.

There There toasty.. cheer up ol' chap.

This has certainly attracted allot of mods, now hasnt it?

This is a pointless post.
And too many posts of pointlessnism can lead to a thread being locked.

theres another reason.

Agreed, this thread has served any useful purpose it could possibly have had.

I'd just like to state that this is not abuse of power, in fact all the mods would rather NOT lock posts, ban people, noob slap, or any of that stuff - we have to, and that's the long and the short of it. If we left those posts as is, then we'd have people asking why the forum is moderated so little. I think we have a happy balance of moderation right now to be completely honest.

Stop making daft posts and we'll stop locking them , simple as that.

Now that I locked this, the only people that can reply are mods - vulgar display of power coming up!
