I used to. I bought 2 copies for me and my sister, to play. We did, until her computer went down in flames

That was a long time ago, before the second two came out. It was a fun game, I enjoyed it. I just dont want to go through the hassle of installing it again, and getting all the updates.

I used to play guild wars, since the day it was released (didn't play the beta). It is a great game, much better playing with friends. I love the way PVP is all equalised so its all about teamwork and skill, not about time spent playing the game.

When I played there were always brief periods of time (a week or two) where someone would create an amazing team combination that was massively overpowered. Before chain lightning was nerfed, I remember playing in teams counting down over team speak THREE, TWO, ONE, BOOM and we wiped out entire teams (sometimes more than one team) instantly because chain lightning could jump unlimited number of times. The best team combo ever was the edge of extinction team, one team instantly took out 4 other hall of hero teams and shortly after that it was nerfed.

My best moment was using healing seed (long before it was nerfed) on the the hero in the hall of heroes, the seed then healed my entire team to full health for 10 seconds despite us being attacked by all other teams at once. When it ran out we all died instantly because of the massive amount of damage we were sustaining. Worst moment was disconnecting 10 seconds before a hall of heroes win.

I eventually moved to wow (world of warcraft) and played that for a year and stopped playing properly a month or two before burning crusade. I made some PVP videos back in the good old days here, and here.

I haven't played GW but I do prefer the idea of a MMORPG that you don't need a monthly subscription to play. I know the running costs are high and updates are released but it's just not something I'm interested in, paying monthly to play one game.

Having said that, there are arguments for it because I spend more each month on other things and if I enjoy the game then why not?

To answer your question, no.

I play on and off. When Prophecies first game out I was a hardcore player. I started when the Beta was first announced by a member of these forums (Was it the guy behind Eternal Destiny? I don't know)... Pre-ordered after that and played in every other weekend beta. Played hours upon release, convinced my friends to get it, started a pretty good guild, then everyone I knew just stopped playing. Then my internet started whacking out and I'd get disconnected whenever I tried to do an instance with other people. Last year I started playing again since I bought the special edition of the Nightfall Expansion (for the same price as the regular edition mind you) and started playing. I don't know, Nightfall and Factions just lack the magic of the first one. They're both good, but just not as good.

Needless to say I'm waiting for Guild Wars 2 info. Hopefully at E3 (If NCSoft still attends).

O.o I play sometimes, I have An MM named Dark Tutankhamun. I never played too much other than MM, I just liked controlling all those minions and overwhelming people in Alliance Battles. So far though the only MMO I want to play is The Old Republic, I've been waiting for the next KOTOR....

I've recently returned to GW, purchased Nightfall, Factions, EOTN and been working on the latter missions since (haven't done much more than visited the main hubs in Nightfall and Factions for trading purposes yet). I used to play heavily (UW, HA, GvG, etc) when my old SW Galaxies guild migrated to GW back in '05 but all members have since moved on. so, now i spend most of my time helping a co-worker friend of mine (mesmer) get through Prophecies (he sparked my (2nd) return to the game), some farming (2 accounts full of crap!), and the aforementioned EOTN excursions.

i'm not interested in reviving the guild to its prior status but the guild hall is open to any wandering soul looking for a place to hang his/her helmet, and my warrior is always hungry for blood!

lol that's really coincidental I played in a guild called Omen with all people who used to play Star Wars Galaxies, I think they've all moved on as well.

i think a lot of people left SWG around that time since gameplay really took a turn for the worst (in many eyes) then. a final "Move along, citizen!" and we went GW for ~6 mos, then a lot went to Auto Assault (RIP, also NCSoft) while i went on a gaming hiatus. by the time i wanted to rejoin them in AA, the servers were all gone :/ some had gone to Dungeons and Dragons Online... i pre-ordered and tried it out, but it didn't keep my interest. and, WoW... not my cup o' blood.

anyway, good ol' Guild Wars still there for the adventure fix. No subscription makes it a great stand-by... probably the best "bang for your buck" deal around. makes up for the 4 accounts i had on SWG. heh.

oh, before i forget... anyone who MIGHT revisit GW sometime, they are currently celebrating their 4th year and giving a free storage pane (20 slots) to all until May 31st (if you're a packrat like me, u never have enough storage space, so...).

I have been thinking about getting it, since it just came to steam, but I'm not sure if I'd like it better than WoW. I'm not sure if I like the gameplay either.

I stopped playing AA a few years ago after loving it for quite a while. I'm anxiously awaiting AA3 to come out. I'm getting pretty annoyed by it's release date though. First they said fall, then they said winter, then they said spring and now it's practically summer. I mean fricking a, chart your development for crying out loud. I know this is on an army budget, and we have more pressing matters, but I think it's just a tad bit ridiculous they've miscalculated so many times. And on top of that, a good portion of the content won't be there right off the bat when they do release it.
