Does anyone else on here look back at their old posts and cringe of the noobyness and stupidity of their posts when they first joined?

This was a pretty pointless thread, but I just wanted to say it, its been bugging me for a while.

Sorry for my former noobyness!

Jack

I once found an old thread that was still going and this total noob was so bad at coding I explained to him how to do it properly.
Then I realised the noob was me!

I look back and want to die.

I really can't believe how noobish I was in some cases. I've had some arguments, made stupid statements and also used to have grammatical errors at a pretty consistent rate. I really don't contribute to this community as much as I should. . .

It's amazing how n00bish my first posts were. I wish they were actually able to be deleted. They're kinda embarrassing.

Yeah, I think that's how everyone feels. I had another account before I lost the password and e-mail linked to it...so now, even if someone reads those old old posts, they still won't be able to link them to me because of my name change.

I'm going to be un-modest and just say no.

I've been on here for the last 5 years (almost), thus experiencing the last half of my development through teenage-hood on here. So I may have been partial to some nooby posts. Though it took me a whole year before I posted something people didn't like, so nothing to get me newb-slapped, banned or flame-baited. Though I did get flame-baited once and well, I won't link to that thread (not because it's embarrassing, but because people might find it offensive, and it breaks the AUP), but I learned from it and my opinion actually started changing afterwards.

Though, reading how I used to right and how some of my posts were pointless or a bit hyper-active, I would probably find my past self a little annoying...particularly posts like this:

Quote: "HEY BRINKS!!!!! WEEEEEE!!!"

OR this:

Quote: "hey its not my fault they were locked, they went off to stupidity, Raven if I were mod, man you'd get a constant red mark on your face shaped like a hand"

as a come-back. :S

Or the fact for a very small period of time I was called 'Teh Buddha'.

That's the best I could come up with, I mean they're nothing compared to some of the loonies we've had posting here, but still, they're foolish.

Pft, I have some bad memories, but I stand tall. Im proud of all the stupid things Ive said and done. It builds character, maybe..... Some of my threads were from my pre-revelation days, and as such, turn out to be halirous (imo). The past is not me. I am me. So therefor I am.

wut?

Hehe. I have a feeling one of the reasons I was nominated for this mod position was the fact that I wasn't too terribly annoying early on My first thread was a W.I.P. in fact.

I think my first few posts are actually quite funny. Yes most of them are completely ridiculous, but hey, I've grown a bit since then. I hope.

Heres a quote from cattle rustler:

Look at my profile and find the only locked thread.

I dont acctually remember writing that :S

It was definitely me though, and I did drink a hell of alot that night.

Me + Drink + Webspace + TGC Forums = A locked thread.

Sorry.

Also my english seems to have improved. yay.

I never said "I want to make a big FPS blah blah blah" I went straight to a simple pong game to get started

My very first post was asking how to stop weapons from glowing and bouncing in FPSC. You wouldn't think I've now compiled The Community Guide to FPSC. lol!

This is my first thread/post: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=68009&b=1
I wasn't that much of a noob (I used newton which is a pain in itself and I used the search function before posting!), I even cracked my first joke on the forum.

Edit: And yes, I'm still working on the very same project.

This message was brought to you by Grandma industries.

I spend most of my first threads making empty promises and getting in flame wars.

Now, I just try not to make sense.

If we're doing very first threads, then, well, I think this might be it:

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=50414&b=3

And I now can model heads just fine.

Very first posts on the other hand...well I wouldn't be able to find those.

Oh and I get the feeling that I may have been the first to offer a Team Request forum after TGC shut theirs down...I should be ashamed, but please don't shun me.

And I'm sure Nolder was very sad to hear that you were depirved of having any models.

It's probably not helpful that I'm mocking you, is it? Oh well, the old days are always something to laugh at...namely when it isn't you that's being laughed at.

Of course, Im just joking. Any one who commited suicide because they were embarrassed on an internet forum... was a failure.

My first post was from my short lived first shots at DBPro...back then I was called DBPro Newbie. It was a sad time for me indeed...my favorite word seemed to be "thanx" back then...

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=60896&b=1

Also looking over some of my older 3D posts...ah the memories. I actually haven't started too many of my own threads over the past almost 4 years, have only made two pages on the "My Threads" list. But yeah...I'm happy to say I've changed a lot since I first got here. Even if I don't use DBPro or any other TGC product

Lol, thanx for reading

Many of mine consist of incomplete games, I've yet to complete a single DBPro game, but I'm onto DarkGDK now so it's even more likely I won't.

Sioux - Hollywood Western Style RTS - Possibly coming soon if I don't give up on it again.
