This entry has been cancelled. I am now in a team with djmaster and Wolf.

There will be maybe one outdoors level, due to the new story line. The game theme is now Modern Day. Updates will be posted in about a week when we get a level ingame. The levels will consist of a several models that join to create a map of which is designed like that of what is seen in 3DWS.

The thread for this game should be up in about a week.

thanks

I hope the terrain will be better than what we've seen previously. I don't mean to come across as an a-hole, but if it's anything like your other terrain maps in terms of visual quality, I don't see it going too well. As I said before, make sure the terrain is clearly defined and make sure textures are consistent in their art style. Rocks should blend into the scenery, not stick out horrendously.

83% of women tested found Pus in Boots irresistable. (Based on a survey of 172 women.)

How many times to I have to explain! That one was just a TEST! Please stop talking about it! Wait for the screens. The map i made with terrain was just to proove that it was possible without lag. Not to show off quality.

thanks

*BUMP* here is a pic of a hi-poly terrain with a 4096 x 4096 texture. I get 38fps all way through. But, when I walk up any steep slopes, that is when it lags.

thanks

We now have Wolf on the team. There will be maybe one outdoors level and it is Modern Day themed. Updates will be posted in about a week when we get a level ingame. The levels will consist of a several models that join to create a map. Sort of like 3DWS. The levels will be modelled in several different programs.

1: Google Sketchup (main model, made from triangles (not squares and other shapes).
2: 3DS Max (fixing up any holes that may appear/animating where necessary).
3: UV Mapper Classic (create a box UV map).
4: FragMotion (finish the UV map and apply textures).
5: 3DS Max (render and final fixes).
6: FPSC.. PLAY!

I know that the main modeller is Google Sketchup, thats because it is easy to use, but if you model PROPER triangles, the models work properly. Most models that are made in sketchup are random shapes, thats where collision problems occur.

I will post a screen of a render in sketchup as soon as I have finished the first level (hopefully by the end of tomorrow). It WONT be textured yet though. This will probably make the game have maybe one outdoor level, but this will be modelled in grouped parts, like 30 trees as a single object (less objects - less lag).

The thread for this game should be up in about a week.

thanks

Enemies have problem with object collisions so a total map is not possible, maybe some invisible segments over them.As for UV mapping I prefer 3dsmax beacause you can make proper uvmaps, not the amateur ones with UVMC.You/we need to refine this plan.

Can a mod please DELETE this thread, I will post a new one without the posts that have been made. It looks much better now, so i would like to create a new thread, and to save forum space, please delete this thread, and also, it is no longer for the mod contest for the other contest.

thanks
