The next book in the Dan Brown collection, Angels and Demons is coming out soon. The book is written by the same guy that wrote the Da vinci code, which became a hit film.

Im gonna see this as soon as it comes out near me, anyone else with the same plan?

I'll probably see it, although I didn't really think that the Da Vinci Code film was that good, at least compared to the book.

Wonder how they will change things to accomodate for doing the series in a different order

If you see a thread of mine in GDT, please don't expect it to go anywhere.

The book was good. I'll probably wait to see the movie until it is on DVD.

I doubt that they will. I read the books in the same order (DaVinci Code then Angels & Demons). I don't think it matters.

Angels & Demons was written before The Da Vinci Code. You may already know this but I wasn't absolutely sure from what you'd written.

Having said that, I haven't read either of them.

Dan Brown's third book in the series is going to be released on September 15 with a first print run of 5 million copies, which is pretty phenomenal.

I enjoyed the book but not as much as Da Vinci Code, and as the film of DVC was not as good as the book, I shall probably wait until DVD release before seeing this one.

Really? All I knew was that they both contained the same guy whereas the other two Ive read, Digital fortress and the other one, had a different guy in.

I read DaVinci Code and thought it was a pretty poor book. I guess the film would be ok for half watching on tv while you are doing something else. Enough going on you can drift in and out and a simple/poor enough plot it doesn't matter that you are missing big chunks of it.
So no I wouldn't go out to see the film but I might watch it on tv.

By way of demonstration, he emitted a batlike squeak that was indeed bothersome.

@Monk: Digital Fortress wasn't about a guy. Deception Point and Digital Fortress both were amusing reads, though. It's a bit sad that Brown repeats the same trick over and over again - you can pretty much guess the entire story's outline in every book by page 20.

Besides that, the only link between Angels & Demons and the Da Vinci Code is the main person and a quick reference to Victoria. Besides that, basically nothing, so they won't need to change anything besides dumping the Da Vinci girl. But since nothing happened there, no problem there either.

The trailer looks great, by the way, so I'm definitely seeing it on the day it releases here.

The book was pretty good but the movie looks like standard Hollywood crap. Meh.

You really needed to read the Da Vinci Code to enjoy the film, they did a bad job on making it understandable to anyone who didn't know the story.

Do you mean 5th? Angels & Demons, Deception Point, Digital Fortress, Da Vinci Code.

Deception point and Digital Fortress aren't part of the same series, so the one coming out this year will only be the 3rd in the series. On a separate note Digital Fortress was probably my favourite of the lot

Angels and Demons is quite popular here apparently. When I suggested going to that one in class, I gathered like... what, 20-25 people in 20 minutes. Bit scary, I wanted to go with a little cozy group.
