Well you're still telling people where they can pirate this and actually giving a link letting them download it, if you get what I mean. Not sure if that's wrong but I would feel it is.

And I was beginning to think Linkin Park had disappeared...Not a bad song but doesn't sound like LP for some reason...It seems they're still needed by Transformers .

You never liked What I've Done...You can't like LP then . THis one isn't really as good as the others like In Between and Numb etc...This is my 5th favourite probably.

It's an OK song, but it's very "samey" when put next to their other stuff. I don't expect them to be around much longer at the rate they're going

I like both the old and new linkin park sound. It's really hard to describe their sound now, but I like it.

Hmm, I don't much like Linkin park anymore there not remembering the past of what made them who they are. They were better in the ol' dem' days when if I posted a topic about them no one knew them. Now everyone knows them. Oh well I can say that I don't listen to practically any mainstream music (curse rap! [and I did not add music because rap is not music]), besides basshunter although everyone has there thing still cool to know there making music , but please remove that YouTube.com link as it does contain a download link

I think they are sticking to who they are more than ever. I think with this whole new sound they have, they've surpassed their past genius that, frankly, was all sounding the same after a while (and was being more and more emulated by other bands). No one is making the same material LP is right now and they are pioneering a whole new genre.

So full of NO that I can't even begin to consider where to start.

I don't mind LP so much these days, at one point I couldn't stand them, but there's so decent stuff on their albums if your prepared to wade through the chaff. I mean you guys are talking about a band and mentioning 1 song predominantly (What I've Done) - and I can see why, because there's not really anything as epic in their catalogue, and you have to ask if 1 great song is enough. I can name my favorite songs from my favorite bands quite quickly, then I could go on for ages about their other songs that I like as well, I could bore most people here to tears with it, so I wont!. My point is that while typing this I'm thinking about a good LP song besides 'Done, and really the only one I can say I like too much is 'Cure For The Itch' - which has no Chester lyrics.

He shouts too much really, and he's been shouting the same things for too long, time to mix it up a bit, it's time for LP to stop suckling on Mike Shinoda's teet. Personally I prefer the more mellow LP songs, we have nu-metal out the a** - I'd rather hear some melody in my old age .

Agreed. I prefer an instrumental with a great melody, than a song with great lyrics and a crappy melody.

The thing with linkin park and the argument that they "suck" is that all the people that listened to them 7 years ago as teenagers are still going to be attached now. I got into them huge in middle school (not sure what UK equivalent is) and have moved on to other music now, but if new LP stuff was to come out or they played in TO I would go see them in a second.

Then your not a true LP fan, and plus, you've already said you'd rather have some melody than this noise, so isn't that biased? LP never cared about appeasing the populous into liking their music. They did their own stuff and if people liked it awesome, if they didn't, then so what? That seems like a core value for them.

I know music should appeal to many, and by targeting a niche group of listener's they don't make as much money as U2 or Coldplay, but they do very well at what they do and the sound they produce.

Yeah, he some time sounds like he listened too much to Slipknot or bands like that. Just listen to "One Step Closer" - the "SHUT UP! SHUT UP! etc." part IMO ruins the song.
And frankly they haven't recorded anything decent after "Hybrit Theory" ather things were too much "pop-ish" and boring for me, while their first album was something new and unique but it looks like they ran out of good(warning: highly personal opinion) ideas after it.

Make games, not war.

I never understand why people argue over whether a song is "good" or not. It's almost completely a matter of opinion. You can break a song into elements and analyze them all you want, but you can't really explain why you like or dislike that particular sound. What one person hears as terrible cacophony, another might hear as an awesome mix of instruments.

What I don't get is why everyone is heralding What I've Done as a classic. That was the poster song for the new album and it's what drew in all the bandwagoners who showed up round minutes to mindnight. It's one of my least favourite LP songs, whereas songs like In The End are the real classics. Don't get me wrong, I love Minutes to Midnight, I'm not critisising it in any way. As for New Divide, I've lsitened to it a few times in the past week or so and it's a pretty good song on it's own merit, but it doesn't compare to their hybrid theory stuff. Without the lyrics, it is very much a "transformers" song, but with the lyrics, it's a solid LP song, even if it is a bit formulaic compared to their old stuff.

83% of women tested found Pus in Boots irresistable. (Based on a survey of 172 women.)

I love Minutes to Midnight.
I've loved Linkin Park for a long time now. I've even got some of the stuff from the different artists before they became Linkin Park. (Like the song "Drag")

I don't mind that their style is changing. In fact, I quite enjoy that. Otherwise, it'll just all get redundant. If you listen to Meteora and Hybrid Theory side by side, you'll notice that they're not very similar sounds.
I'm really excited that LP has a new album out. Hopefully it won't be explicit like the last one. I thought that was really stupid of them.

Heretic!

Just kidding, the last thing you said is what it is all about. Personal opinion. I love them. Liked them better before, like Numb, Crawling or In The End, but that does not mean they are even close to bad now. Besides, I love What I´ve Done, so their new songs are good to. I think .

I don't love them, they're just my type of music and I've gotten into them, but Cafe Tacuba have taken over me with spanish rock if you've played LittleBIGPlanret, you should know who they are (hint: Wedding theme).

Lol, I only have 'Sino' (Spanish for 'but' or 'however', I take GCSE Spanish ) since I heard Volver a Comenzar from LBP and I must say that they are brilliant . No wonder they won 3 or so Grammy Awards for best latin band.
