I just built my DIY PC and found out that it's not operating properly. Firstly, the splash screen stays on and never changes even if I have the OS disc in; secondly, I bought a 'Logitech Cordless Wave' Keyboard and Mouse and they don't connect to the receiver when plugged into the PC, the receiver won't even work except for when I put the USB to PS/2 attachment on but the keyboard and mouse still won't connect. The specs are:

-2x1GB RAM
-abit AN52S motherboard
-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
-ATi Sapphire Radeon 4550 512mb DDR3
-550W PSU with Excalibur ATX Case
-22x SATA CD-DVD Drive
-160GB SATA Hard Drive

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Start removing parts one at a time until it boots.

That said, I'd seriously question the state of your processor considering you ran it without a heatsink. I'd try a different cpu and see if it boots or try the cpu in another machine.
