I am happy to say I've purchased Green Day's newest Album, and frankly, I'm loving it. It's got a sound that I like better than American Idiot, as far as guitar, mastering and mixing go; when comparing American Idiot the song and Know your Enemy side by side this evidence is different: the newer song has an edgier, less processed sound.

And then the songs. There are so many songs here, (18), that I'd be surprised if there wasn't a song on here for everyone. They range from piano or soft acoustic guitar ballads to crazy energetic punk to boisterous arena rock anthems. Green Day really takes on a wide array of new sounds and it fits them well. A song or two have a playful alternative feel that reminds me of My Chemical Romance... in a good way.

My personal favorites include:
21st Century Breakdown
Know Your Enemy
Before the Lobotomy
East Jesus nowhere
Last of the American Girls
Murder City
?Viva La Gloria?
Restless Heart Syndrome
21 Guns
American Eulogy
See the Light

You should look all those up on youtube. They take a while to get used to... but shortly I found myself singing the chorus's without realizing it.

So... I'm curious to see what you guys think of Green Day's Big comeback.

There was actually another thread on this a few days ago...

"You are not smart! You are very un-smart!"
