10 Hours from this post date will be 1:00PM here in the Eastern United States, which is when I'm hoping to see a fair amount of players on the servers.

I had a play around the map, good fps. I could only find one weapon though :S It was the sniper rifle. Also, none of the first person weapon models had textures (though that was probably because I didn't extract the zip file).

SERVER UPDATE
The 1pm Beta has been canceled due to server problems. Hoping to have everything up and running by the 6pm test. Which will take place 4 and a half hours from now. If anyone has the ability to host a game, it would probably help resolve the server issues. Everyone testing at 1pm had their routers running, and their ports were incorrectly set.

Marc, players start with a combat knife in their inventories each time they respawn. Handguns can be found on the barrels/chairs, in the repective teams' spawnpoints.

SERVER UPDATE

The 6pm BETA test went great. We had 6 people on the servers and were able to get in a few team deathmatches before the servers closed. Thanks to all who participated. I think this gave me (and everyone else that participated) a good idea of what FPSC can handle in terms of multiplayer, running with the V1.15 Blue Performance Mod.

Okay,

I just finished a "single player" test of the map. It was a great map, but when I first spawned, my Fps was 4-5. Then, the little metal chairs, when I came too close, I fell through the floor, and died, when I respawned, my fps was 62.

I recommend playing around with the angles of the chair, so you dont fall though. Other than that, really cool map.

-----------------------------------------------

BTW: I was able to get behind the structure, and explore. The back of the structure should have segments with a 1X1 pxl texture. It will help fps for slower comps.

Thanks a lot for testing you guys . Butterkiss haha, yeah, I saw someone who was sliding across the floor the whole time they were playing. It was a little annoying , but I guess that was the purpose of the BETA right?

Appleslicer, thanks for reporting the bugs. I'll take a look at the chairs. Unfortunatley, I don't think there's anything I can do about the lag when you first spawned; it's more than likely an issue with the servers. But at least it goes away the next time the player spawns. Stayed tuned for the V1.2 BETA UPDATE.

Nice game!

Do you have real servers for this? Or is it you hosting? If its "real" servers, then how did you achieve this?

Mainly for testing purposes. It was rather difficult with the first BETA testing to get equal sides. People were'nt really trying to makes the teams fair, they just wanted to play. And some people started teamkilling just to kill more I thought it would be better to just seperate all of the spawnpoints, and let everyone do their own thing; at least until some changes or additions are added to the team-multiplayer in FPSC.

@Kravenwolf
Downloaded this and its very good but you not set up the multiplayer features in the setup.ini.

Look in manuals folder and lok at the read me so you can setup the setup.ini so all features are working.

Team matches would not work if they where not set up in the setup.ini.

Best of luck s4real

I attached a new setup.ini just replace the old one with this in the game dir.

S4real, thanks for the reply. I'll take a look at that and make the changes with the next update.

For anyone that's interested, the servers of the 1.2 BETA will be active in about 20 minutes from this post date. They'll be up for about a half an hour. Anyone with the download is more than welcome to join the game!

Sorry Gunn3r. I was looking forward to beating you I primarily made Training Grounds to 'test the waters' with multiplayer. I just wanted to see how successful a multiplayer game in FPSC would turn out. It would seem that, due to the HORRIBLE server issues, not so good

From this point forward, I'm not going to work on any other multiplayer maps. AT LEAST until the server issues are addressed, and a few features are added to online gameplay. When that happens, I'll use the multiplayer IP...mod...and release a variety of 'Training Grounds' maps into one multiplayer game.

How do you host a game? Does everyone have to have your IP Adress or what?

Multiplayer maps aren't realy popular enough yet in FPSC to have a steady number of players always on the servers; which is why I didn't carry this project any further. Furthermore, only a select few are actually able to host a game others can join Unless you can arrange a game with a few friends, you probably won't be able to play against anyone

That sucks. Maps like this should definately help to increase the popularity.

On the otherhand I think most people are playing games online with consoles these days as your pretty much guranteed to have lots of people playing. With commercial PC online games there are too many cheaters using bots and usually 101 things you need to download before you can join a match.

Ironically enough FPSC wouldn't suffer from those problems but there would need to be a lot more interest in playing online which would probably require a fairly big update e.g. dynamic entities and scripts working across a network game etc.

Quote: "Aww, and this was such a great map . I'll host a game sometime tomorrow if anyone's interested"

That would be cool. I've never actually played an FPSC game with other people which after 2 years is a bit crazy.

this game can be popular if we post this game to all forums that we are members in.
but i think that it whould be better if you make a website for this game there you can download the game.
thats how your game will be popular.
and if you want to make a website and has none knowledge on coding download bluevoda to make the website.
sorry for the english from sweden
