I am still doing kind of my "concept art" for my first game.

And the only thing so far I am satisfied with is the game menu screen - although I am thinking about changing the menu bars too later on

The screenie features Aiko's retexture by gps and the ever popular Pit Crawler by rolfy

EDIT: The 1st teaser trailer is now up on YouTube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7Fdv-wiOus enjoy!

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

I'm not sure, but I think you need an in-game screenie for this to stay open. And also, it'd be nice if you would put up a summary of the story. Good luck with your game, mate.

Odd, in x10 the in-game screenie removes the gun as well as the HUD. If you want to capture the HUD too, press "Print Screen" (Usually abbreviated as "Prt Scrn") and then go into paint and go to "edit-paste"

PS: is it possible to edit the thread title? WIP: Red Planet [X9]would be more fitting if I throw every update into this thread

Thanks, mods - for editing the thread title!

Here's another screen of the first level - it doesnt look spectacular but I decided to do all the lighting after the level is done

That's completely uncalled for, very immature and disrespectful.

Really? Did you fill out all the required paperwork and submit it to the proper office to make your game title LEGALLY protected? If not, then you have no right to say you own the rights of the title.

You can't possibly mean that he 'stole' the STOCK MEDIA that comes with FPS Creator from you. Wow.

This kind of thing is bound to happen occasionaly, the only real issue is if both parties intend to sell their games. To be honest both are very good efforts but still have a long way to go before being commercially viable. I can understand the knee jerk reaction since both will have put a lot work into creating media which reflects the titles of the games for use in menu screens and such, the lesson here is to keep all your files from photoshop or whatever graphic program you use so you can easily change things should you find you have to. In fact keep ALL files for everything and back it up, you never know when things can be improved at some point

I say both just keep on with your games.
But next time think before you post something.
It was completely unnecessary what you said.

And he didnt took anything from you, those are model packs media and stock media i guess.

Sorry for off topicness but check out this thread he just posted: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=152377&b=21

Asking if he should feel bad for buying it when he could just pirate it and then asking why people shouldn't just pirate it.

"Red Planet" for a game based on mars is such a *logical* choice that personally I have no problems with a dozen other people using it.

I also doubt that even a company could have such a common name registered.

If anyone (including me) wants to go comercially it has to be with a title like
"Red Planet 2020 AD"
or
"Red Planet: Beyond the Surface"
just to name a few examples

@nikas: be creative - thats what FPS is all about

PS: I completely forgot about the movie myself
