Story
In 2065, political tension between the east and the west errupt in a Nuclear war that ravaged the planet. Colonies On Mars and the moon were secured and begun life a new on there seperate planets.

In 2155, Nuclear levels on Earths surface had lowered to an acceptable degree so that current Hazmat suits could cope. Researchers were sent by both colonies to try and uncover the extent of the damage.

In 2215, The colonies decided that Earths radiation levels were accessable by all. This meant that earth was still off limits to live on, but could be visited.

Now, in 2216, You are one of the first Salvagers to rush for Earth. hoping to find anything valuble to sell. But how far will the Colonial goverments go to keep their past secrets hidden.....

Authors Notes:
So thats what I have got story wise. Its not great but its all I could come up with at the time. What im hoping to do is mix the present with the future in terms of artistic style. Keeping modernday level designs but with Sci-fi guns and cahracters would seem the obvious way to go. Should be good fun to make, and seeing as im not doing this in any serious way i hope to learn an awful lot from this. I have never really tried anything in terms of actually creating a game so it should be interesting. Anyway here are some screenshots...

Thanks man! I am going to use the "COM" as a nickname for the police in this game! Nice spot!

Anyway a few more screenies! I am almost finished on episode one! Its really story based rather than action based at the moment! But its still good fun!

Enjoy!

Awesome! I'd love to see you try some post-apocalyptic outdoor scenes in this, the most awe-inspiring parts of Fallout 3 had to be the rolling hills scattered with rubble, with the shadows of fractured flyovers in the distance...

You could have it as part of the skybox or something...

Can't wait to see what you come up with for the outdoor stuff...

I think fog would work well in the outdoor scenes, make it slightly green, like lingering radiaiton or something....

Maybe, I have never seen your technique so it may be the same im not sure! lol!

Quote: "Man, I love that projector. Howd you get such good lighting for it?"

Thanks man! I used a dynamic object with an alpha setting so it was semi transparent. I then Placed a light inside the object in the editor so it looked like the projector was actually in use! I may do a small tutorial on it soon.

Man haha I've been eagerly awaiting the release of those as well, they're so pro! And would be just PERFECT for a game like yours. Hopefully Strelok gets them into the store soon

Just remember to keep a good balance between nice looking outdoor levels, and not going so big you get lagged down. Looking great so far though!

Yeah they are pretty damn saweeet!

Yes I have made sure that the level works with a low end - mid raneg PC the computer I tested it on only has 512 mb of ram and has an old geforce 6 series I think. Seemed to work fine!

Played it, here are the ole specs...

Processor: Dual Core 2.13GHz
RAM: 2 GB
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce 8800 GT

Overall Performance: 8.5 / 10

Comments: Ran perfectly smooth, I tried jumping/crouching/running wherever I could to find lag, didn't detect one hint of it though.
The atmosphere is fantastic, I'm not sure how you get the fog to be thick like that, to the point where it seems to be lingering right around you even looking down at your feet! But it's perfect.
The lighting is good, not too bright, not too dark.
Entity placement is great, the warehouse itself feels a little baron however, but even some trash overlay's here and there on the floor would add just the right element to the mix.
You're outdoor area is almost flawless, the wires across the buildings and poles add nice scenery detail; the only thing I could suggest is maybe adding a few buildings in the background. Just simple, low poly ones with a single texture and window would even be great. Just an idea.

Looking forward to episode one man

-Cheers
