Well, I was checking Steam's connection settings, because apparently they have been a culprit of slow downloads. My speed is 512kbps, but Steam DLs at 100-132kbps.

Now, it says there;

Modem - 56k
DSL > 256k
DSL > 768k
DSL/Cable > 2M
Cable/Fiber > 10M

Now, I have a broadband modem, and it has a little light marked 'DSL'. So to me that falls into both modem and DSL. So WTF, really? Can someone tell me which is which?

Cheers, Toasty

DSL uses a modem still, the 'modem' term there just refers to 56k modems. It should say dial-up really.
