Just get anything together and post something. It will get locked otherwise.

So storyline eh? Umm what Era are you going for? Modern, Sci-fi, Ww2?

Also when you say battlefield, do you mean online?

When? in 2010?
Okey sorry sorry was just a joke.
But okey seriously.
You dont have a story? And you expect it to be finished in 2010?
Serious man. Its best to just begin writing or brainstorming before beginning something.
Because thats normally the actual beginning of something.

That way you can create levels fitting the story, now you'll just make a quick level to make sure your thread wont get locked.
Dont get me wrong though. Its not bad to create some levels without an actuall story or game.
Actually sometimes its best to create some levels before beginning a game.
Expending your level knowledge, basic layout, item placement, lighting placement...etc.

So i would say start this thread as a sort of level making thing.
And begin a thread when you already have some basics for a game.

Arab setting, Eh? How about this for a story(this was written entirely by me): After the hasty withdrawl of Russian troops from the Soviet-Afghan war, thousands of valuable weapon stockpiles are left around the country, creating an arms race in the middle-east. Russian dictator Gorbechev is assasinated, and a new leader, Vladmir Putin is placed into power. Under his command, feeling threatened by the Muhadijin after they controlled the capital city Kabul in Afghanistan, he makes a decision to re-enter the country sparking a race against time to fid the nuclear stockpiles and give back control of the government to the Republic of Afghanistan. Please give credit if used! Thanks

Looks good, but without lighting, a great game can get ruined. You don't have to put lamp posts and stuff, but just a weak over light, so that it doesn't look out of place, but provides just enough light for the player to see?

Best,

You need lighting all around. It's a critical tool in level design that's just as important as anything esle. It doesn't have to be intense, but light effects and shadowing are neccessary to make a game look even half decent. Even games with the best level design in the world would look...terrible without shadows.

I would raise the light a level or two up, and increase its size some.

I don't think it's between the buildings, becouse of the position of the shadows. But yes, I would raise it up a bit and make it bidder. But looks nice.

Last screenshot was cool. But you should change skies and you should make a bigger map if you want a game like CoD4.
