yeah, I just checked youtube, and it gives me this:

I also checked downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ and it says youtube is down for everyone! NOOOO! The world will end! We can't waste time watching ridiculous videos anymore! NOOOOOOOO!

EDIT: lol, and now its back up.
It was down for a good ten minutes though, I wonder what happened...
But really, the world would pretty much fall into chaos if youtube really did disappear for any extended period of time.

Works here, just slow. Must have been a temporary glitch (or a regional server dying)

It is working, it is just incredibly slow that's all (and sometimes so slow that it triggers the 502)

It's just very slow for me. They might just be performing maintenance on it right now. I hate it when they do that, but it's gotta be done.

huh, when it DID load for me a minute ago, it didn't have the usual "we're performing site maintenance. Be cool, we'll be back to 100% soon." message.
I hope it gets back to full speed soon, or we'll have massive global riots on our hands...

Yeah, I got that error last night around 10:00 pm EST. And this night around 10:00 pm EST it happened again. I think google is planning something behind our backs... Something... EVIL!

I found Youtube slow earlier today, but it's not the first time this has happened.

To be fair to google, it has improved alot since they took over. It used to be almost unusable.

Seriously you all need to get a life! lol! Google always does maintenance on youtube, to keep it running fine. Just give it a little time and everything will be back to normal!

Chill out!

I think just the opposite

Google has been re-compressing the files and many of the old videos have lost audio sync (as used to happen to Google Video, what a coincidence), besides they look even worst.

Also since they started the 'HQ' mess, it is usual that you have to reload several times the page, as it shows:
"An error has ocurred. Please try again later."

And you require a Google account to sign up to YouTube now.

Seeing how much load the site makes daily this is just normal. I think Google is doing great job.

Ahh from what I gather you can link your youtube account with your google account, but you don't need to join google!

Are you sure about that? I took time to create a Google account when creating a new account on YouTube because I thought it was necessary. At least, it didn't state clearly that it wasn't.

Strange, you know; I just went and watched an episode of AVGN that was 14 minutes long on YouTube and it only took 20 seconds to buffer rather than about 20 minutes as per usual.

Keep it like this, please, Youtube. ^^

You mean you had to wait for it to buffer?
I have a slow internet speed and it plays instantly because it loads faster than it plays (Obviously it varies, but on average it's faster at downloading than the playing speed)

Uh yeah doesn't everyone? It doesn't say "Buffering..." but it obviously is. Even when I've been on cable internet in cities there's been a few seconds of hangtime whilst the progress bar gains ground on the progress point.
