Well, my friend asked me to make a game based off of his series of comics he made while he was bored at school, so here are some screenshots of the first level: end of the world.

Story: you are a wealthy, no, filthy stinkin' rich admiral in the US navy during WW3, 1980-2012. Well, that is about to come to an end. As meteors shower and shred your planet, you must escape and discover the dark secrets of the desolated sol system, and beyond.

Anyone gonna reply? btw, here is another screen, this one of the second level, rocket dash. Yes, there are iron sights. this is using ply's mod, iron sights are from airmod.

hang on a sec... you said this was 1980 to 2012
1. why are ther nazis? (ww2 ended in 1945)
2. 2012-to close in the future to have such sci-fi stuff in the last screen.

WW2 modern day and sci-fi are all good genres.
but put them together and... no.
so you might want to reconsider your plot a little bit.

however, i did like your use of lighting, but try and add a few more lights. white is often a good colour.

weapons... good, g36c is good, but are you using purchased ply's mod? because you know you can't build game with the demo.
(something he "forgets" to tell you in the download)

i like the basic plot, with meteor showers... but that's gonna be a little hard to reconstruct.

Yes, I am planning to purchase plys mod, and, those nazis ane stand ins, and this takes place in an alternate universe, where brutal death-and-gore machines are sold at the supermarket, so... I'm fixing it up, thanks for the advice!

EDIT: the first three levels take place in 2012, and the scientists are experimenting with stuff. the second level takes place in the totally teched-out evac space center for crisis, or ESCC, which if you look, is the comuter key "escape" with an extra c.

hmmm.. that plotline looks preety decent.
i'll play it if you release a download link.

oh yeah, if you want a pretty decent sci-fi but not to sci-fi character, download the cosmic prophet mega pack part 2 (go on fps files, it's there) that has a good sci-fi trooper character, along with some great sci-fi stuff.

cool, thanks for showing intrest. BTW, I'm thinking about having a sub-plot about the second rocket that escaped from earth, they discover an alien genesis device and decide to try and hijack it. should I include this or not?

A few screenshots of the third level: earth is gone. It takes place on the USSP (united states space program)Oblivion space station. the rocket is refueling, and the destruction of earth has caused the moon to lose Its gravitational balance and it is hurdling right at the space station! you need to escape, but the crew has turned on you, as they want to survive, too. as you race towards the rocket bay, the moon gets ever closer, and secret personel reveal themselves.

this is a screenshot of one of those secret personel... the secret... the elusive... RICK ASTLEY!!! lol, it's an easter egg that you can find.

The second shot is okay. As for the first, an easter egg is okay. I made him one in one of my games and when you kill him he comes back XD. Anyways, keep it up.

Two: How should I make the cutscenes? Im thinking of using Pivot 3 along with cartoon-ish animation, but I could use something like max payne comics, but with voices, and animated comic panels. the animated comic panels would stay true to the schoolyard comic roots, but IDK how I would go about doing that. what are your suggestions for cutscenes and how to go about them?

You could just do a slide-show of each comic panel since you said your friend already drew one. Scan them, organize them and add voice acting. I'd like it.

Also, I just noticed it, I think that last shot you posted is in full ambiance. I would add a light and a light source in there.

Yeah, I need to tone the ambience down, The last part of that level is going to be A thrilling humvee escape down the halls and finally into the docking station, where you fly A shuttle onto the escapeing rocket as the station is destroyoed behind you (the shuttle is via cutscene.)

Oh, and I'll try to get a scanner. how much would one cost?

Ok, cool. hope the demo is good, not done with the menu or anything. Im scrapping the vehicle chase as it is way too hard to acomplish as of now. But, there will be vehicles swerving around you as you escape on foot, explosions everywhere, and the next level starts the games transition into "funhouse" horror.

since you don't have a scanner, that might not be a good idea to get one. They're pretty expensive, but you might be able to pick up a cheap one.

ok, i just (tried) playing it, and i'm afraid i'm going to have to give it a dnf, purely because of the sheer amount of lAG!

pros:
good use of entities
i liked the style
good choice of weapon
i liked the puzzle element
cons:
LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG
unfortunately i could not finish the game because it was so laggy!
you have massive outdoor and indoor levels, and i'm afraid the fps creator engine just cannot cope with that, even on the best computers.
nazi's? make better enimies!

to solve your lag problem: try compressing your levels a little bit, and maybe make indoor and outdoor two different levels.
don't set things to always active, that can really lag up the engine.
basically try to tone your levels down a bit.
other than that, well done!

Ok, Ill try and remake level 1 a bit, and I know just the soldier to use to replace those.

EDIT: Do you guys think I should just totaly remake level 1 instead of delete everything 'cause my comp. messes up alot?

i think you should, because you have quite a lot of resource-hungry empty spaces in your levels, and if you cut down on them, you can really cut the lag.
