Since I'm looking to make some cash with my website designing and programming skills over the next few months of summer, I decided that I could start by spreading the word on TGC that I'm available for hire if anyone needs certain work done.

But, I didn't want to make a random post, blatantly advertising myself, as if I had no job and wanted to steal your money.

To develop a sort of 'trust' with you guys on TGC, I'm going to show you what I have done, see who posts the best website proposal, and do the entire website for free. This way, I can show you what I can do, and that I'm not here to steal your money.

All I ask of you is that if you need a website done, you simply post it here or post that you've e-mailed me about it (rpgmakerx2_AT_hotmail_DOT_com). Look to the bottom of this post to see what you should include in your post asking for the website.

I'll show you guys the work I've done and tell you what I'm capable of, then I'll pick the website that seems like it will have the most purpose or value.

For example, if you just had this brilliant idea for a new blockbuster game that your going to code because you just bought DarkBasic, and you need a website for it quick... then, don't
bother posting.
But, if you have a good amount of work to show on a certain project (does not necessarily have to be a game, and does not necessarily have to be something programmed), and you are interested in having a website built for it, then by all means- post away! It could even be your game making 'company' or group, if you really have something to show for them.

To give a layout of all of my skills, I'll just list them all and give examples of what I can do with them. This way, you can choose to include certain aspects or features in the website you'd like me to build for you:

Photoshop/Flash - I will design the entire website in Photoshop and/or Flash, including Logo and etc.
HTML/CSS - Then, I will use HTML and CSS to cut up the design into an internet-friendly template that can be easily modified and used.
PHP/MySQL - PHP and MySQl can be used to program a user-account system, photo-uploaders, a custom forum or message board system, anything of the sort that requires storing and retrieving information in a database. So this can be used to create an administrator panel, and from there you'll be able to manage and modify all of the content of your website. This is what they call a CMS, or content management system
Javascript/Flash/AS3 - so now that your website is fully functional, I can add handy accessories like a dropdown menu, and other fancy things like that with Javascript. If you want a custom video or music streamer/player, I can easily create this with Flash and Flash Actionscript 3.0

Here's my website, which you can look to for a quick example of my work...
XenMedia
It was designed in Photoshop and then cut up into a HTML/CSS template, where then I made it functional with PHP and MySQL to create a MySQL database-based content management system (aka CMS) and used a javascript based menu.
To be honest, I'm completely redoing the website. It's finished, and almost ready to be uploaded, but for an example of my work, you can still look there.

View the Portfolio Page for other examples of my work.

So, there you have it. If you want a website built for anything, please post here. Post all the features you want, what you want it to look like, color schemes, when you want it done by, and other things like that. I'll pick the one that looks most promising to have real purpose, and it will begin.

Good luck, and thanks for your time,
Xenocythe

DemoFPS.COM is a little project I stated working on about 6 months ago I guess, and have since put it aside. (I have a tendency to start things and never finish) It was to be a showcase of FPS demos, games, engines, content, utilities, etc and branch out into other types of games and content as well. Image attached.

As for features...

-Database to list/display content and provide search capability.
-Registration and upload system for new content.
-Download tracking.
-User comments and rating system.

I'm not a big fan of flash, music, fancy menus and the like unless it showcases the product, like for a web design website. I'm more about speed and ease of use.

If this seems like something you'd like to tackle, I'd be more than happy to share any profits with you. It would probably be only Google income, but at least it could be recurring income. If you'd like some prospective numbers, email me. The domain name is
registered and the site is hosted.

Brian.

My site could use sprucing up.

I would like each page done in this style if possible, with links on the left and the content on the right.

The front page could also use some fixing up. If you could possibly make me some new buttons and send me the .psd files so I could edit what they say, that would be nice.

I would prefer to keep the same front page style and logo, so perhaps if you could edit it to blend into a black background, that would be good.

A black and white scheme would be nice, with white buttons and black backgrounds, etc. Very simple, you know.

Cheers mate!

Black Rebel Heart, I didn't know the guy who made Big Rigs was on these forums! I knew the graphics looked familiar to DarkBasic
Thanks for posting, I'll wait a bit more for more people to grab at this opportunity.

Jerico2day, I'll talk to you on MSN. Thanks!

Just as a heads up, Brian offered to share his Google ads revenue with me as a payment for me doing the website... but I'm happy doing the website absolutely for free, being the whole point of the thread
So do not feel as if you have to compete with Brian's offer to post your own proposal, I can't accept any money for the website I choose.

Thanks everyone.

Xenocythe,

I understand your thoughts there and I wasn't trying to pay you for what you offered to do free. I know you already know this. Still, it would be a great benefit to me if you wanted to help me with it. If it's something you want to do outside of this offer, that would be great, because I won't let you do it free. You could still do free work as others request here.

Either way, let me know.

Brian.

@Black Rebel Heart

You wrote Big Rigs?

Where's my shotgun?

EDIT: It can't be him, the proper site for Stellar Stone was aquired by a spam site in 2004 when the company vanished. His link was to a mirror. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellar_Stone_LLC

I'd like help redesigning my site. It's in ASP.NET, though, so I'm not sure if you'd be willing to help out. I guess it's technically not a redesign because it hasn't really been designed yet. We've just been working on the major sections that need the most coding, such as the user control, and the forum. If anyone wants to help out with that, that would be great. Xenocythe, if you'd like to help out, just shoot me an email.

Yes, it is my site.

@Xenocythe: If you're inferring that I was not taking you seriously, I am very serious.
