OK, a few of you may know that I have this game "TombStone" on the WIP board. A lot have tested it, and Mireben got some flashing while playing the game. Apparently, a white flash covers the screen every second or so in the menu, and in the first level every 20 seconds. Here is a quote from him:

Quote: "The white flashing is still there. In the menu, at the bush and in the trial level, the screen flashes every 5 seconds. When the first big level starts, it gets a bit better but it still flashes about every 20 seconds or so. The computer has an Nvidia 9700 GT video card and Vista, but I had the same issue on an ATI card (I think 9500 but I'm not sure) with XP as well. Otherwise both are rather powerful laptops, so it cannot be a question of speed. The FPS was 47-49."

Does anyone know how I can fix this flashing?

Thanks in advance, TheComet

Did you submit the setup.ini file with the game and make sure the bitflipmode=1 ?

Enjoy your day.

How about putting this at the top of the screen:

Set Display Mode whatever
Sync On: Sync Rate 0: CLS 0: Sync

Run the above in a loop maybe 5 to 10 times before the main program starts, then set your sync rate to whatever you want. See if it helps.

Also try locking the cli. At the top of the program put
LOCK CLI. Even though an exe doesn't use the cli, maybe it'll help.

And/Or, draw all 2d to offscreen bitmaps and only copy the bitmaps over to screen 0. Might mean a major rewrite.

Make sure the latest video drivers are installed on the cards.

Enjoy your day.
