I realize that you probably don't celebrate this in very many countries other than Sweden, but I just thought I'd let you know that today's the day.

So why not go get yourself a pole, embellish it with flowers and go nuts.
It doesn't quite have to be like this, but each to his own

I'm Swedish and I was freaking sure this had already happened, just comes to show how much I care about these odd holidays I guess.
Gives me an excuse to eat a bunch of crappy food though, so that's all good.

Crappy food indeed... I don't even like "sill" (herring).

I think us swedes are pretty much the only ones who celeberate this odd 'holiday.'
Oh well, it's been a tradition for long, and it's one of few traditions that isn't tied to religion in any way. Plus, it's an excuse to socialize, so it ain't so bad.

I remember celebrating something like that in college. I think it was called night-time.

Merry Midsummer!

It's actually a great thing to celebrate; we're finally on our way towards another long and cold winter
(It's not completely accurate, but midsummer pretty much coincides with the summer equinox).
