Hi, my laptop just broke so I had to rewrite my whole script to my desktop. I had the files perfect and all when I debugged it and nothing showed up!! I realized it was because the desktop couldn't read .x files as my laptop. What it did was pop up the regular notebook and showed a whole bunch of symbols . Could someone please post a solution?!?!

What?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps you're opening binary .X files? Which will show up as a 'bunch of symbols' in notepad.

What do you want help with? If you open a binary file, you will see binary data.

Which one? The one that comes with it? Well it shows how to use it with visual c++. NOT how to open it up correctly .

I don't know, the tutorial you mentioned before. If it's 3D I assume it loads a model and displays it on the screen at some point, so just take note of what it does?

To open it and view it, get a model editor. Either that or just load it up in DBP/C++ and view it through there. You can't 'view' a model by simply opening it in notepad, you need a dedicated model editor/viewer.

I think this is a PICNIC situation - try opening the model in a free model editor such as Blender or Fragmotion (Fragmotion has a trial). You can get these through a simple search of their names.

Also... what project are you opening, and how are you "opening" it?
