Linkin park - new divide

Gunna watch transformers 2 at the weekend, read some bad reviews but i loved the first one, must take a hell of a lot of modelling hours to make the CGI.

Linkin Park is just a bunch of schmucks know how to write songs that only appeal to juveniles. Their riffs, which get stuck in your head and you can never get them out (so they drive you insane), only contain 2 - 3 notes. They have no real skill as musicians.

I guess I'm not as sophisticated as the rest of you. I love LP and I love their new song!

I actually like Linkin Park, and the new song is awsome, can't get it out of my head. I watched the movie with my GF on thursday, can't say it's amazing, but it is good, and the CGI is amazing .

It's deffinatley worth the watch. And the song is good too =D.

There's more to music than just the person singing. No doubt his voice was corrected in the studio, no doubt he sounds worse on stage (I know), but what they do musically with the background music is phenomenal. Mike Shenoda is a genius.

I don't give a crap about the singing. Anyone that can talk can sing. Linkin Park simply can't play anything of complexity on their instruments. Their songs consist of 1 - 2 simplistic riffs played over and over and over again. Even Slayer has more complex songs than Linkin Park.

Trust me, because of a certain family member of mine who likes to turn the volume up way too loud, I hear every single album of theirs every single day.

Quote: "They sing about stuff that i can relate to"

You can relate to that juvenile banter?

But whatever, lyrics don't really make a difference in the quality of music. In fact the highest quality music is instrumental.

While i respect your opinon about the quality(Instramental is one thing that makes a good band),

THE THREAD WAS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE LISTENED TO LP - NEW DIVIDE AND WISH TO SAY POSITIVE THINGS ON ITS BEHALF. IF YOU DO NOT FIT THIS CATAGORY, PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE THREAD AND IF YOU MUST SAY SOMTHING LET IT BE POSITIVE.

Quote: "You can relate to that juvenile banter?"

I'm a juvenile. It hurts to be catagorized because of my age, simply because of my taste in music at this stage in my depressed life..

Actually, the question posed at the begining of this thread was:

Quote: "Have you listened to the new linkin park song?"

Well, I listened to it and then told my reaction to it, as everyone else is doing, which happens to be the same reaction I have to all Linkin Park music.

Quote: "I'm a juvenile. It hurts to be catagorized because of my age, simply because of my taste in music at this stage in my depressed life.."

Oh please. "Depressed life"? EVERY teenager thinks their life is crap, even if they've got it made. I know, I was once a teenager too. Get over it.

And by associating your taste in music (Linking Park) with adolescence, you admit that the only reason you like it is because it appeals to the fleeting emotions that you feel and not because of any musical quality that it has.

"Use the search button" (in isolation, without any other value in the post) Anything containing the word "noob".
"I posted before this was locked"

There is nothing wrong with healthy debate and providing different or better ways to do the same thing, and this kind of discussion is welcomed.

What will not be tolerated is any post that discourages rather than encourages.

He wasn't flaming...you can't tell someone to keep their opinion to themselves just because you're unhappy it wasn't a positive reaction. He didn't say anything that broke the rules so can it.

I don't ever remember hearing a "juvenile" LP song...if you think LP is juvenile than...hehe...you have been living an isolated life and have not been listening to other artists/bands.

They sing about fairly generic terms, all very mild and tame in nature, and while I may have been able to relate back when I was 13, it isn the case now. Still an LP fan for life since I grew up with it. Maybe you had an NWA album playing and mixed it up with LP?

If you just say that you don't like something without actually giving a rational reason for not liking it, that's flamming. If what you have done is say that you don't like somthing and then give an actual reason for not liking it, like what I have been doing about Linkin Park, it's called "criticism", which IS constructive.

Herakles, I think what you say has meaning and I can relate to some of it, but with a massive fan base including millions of fans world wide they must have done something right . But I think the singer sounds awful live, and I know most of there music is mainly made digitally, but I still like them. Not my fav band ever, but there alright.

And that stuff about all teenagers being depressed, thats crap, Im a teen, I love my life =D.

More importantly, for a textbook demonstration of how to butcher a classic, the new version of Stan Bush's "The Touch".

The song isn't just good it's excellent! The song was intended for a movie remember that before posting it sucks horribly. Also, I respect that they made a clean awesome song, is it bad because there are no cuss words in it? The video is a nice addition with the coordination and imagery.

To be honest, the worst thing I hate about music artist today are there obsession with sex songs. It appeals to young juveniles who cannot get girlfriends or boy friends. I am 19 years old, I disliked my teenager years, but that doesn't mean I have to bicker that I will never get past their experiences. We are all made with a freedom of choice, speech, etc so go out and live the most exciting or dull life you can imagine is my motto.

Transformers 2 was pretty much better than the first...
Although there were some slow moving parts that were un-necessary... Like the scene where he's captured by that decepticon and their threatening to kill him unless he tell's them all this random stuff I forgot, that part was too short and was really needed...

@ Dave J, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that seriously in the new movie? How could that be compared to the original? I'm gonna guess the movie uses it about Sam, and not Optimus, and- and wtf? That's not the same song in any way.

Also, kinda silly considering it's live action, but I hate that these new movies are all about the humans with there happening to be Transformers. Frankly the Transformers are far more interesting than the humans, as is the original story.

I'll be seeing it as my family wants to and I'm with them for the summer, but I'm gonna cover my ears during that version of the touch, to preserve one of my favorite childhood movies.
