It's not faulty RAM. 0x5 is INVALID_PROCESS_ATTACH_ATTEMPT which means a diver has attempted to do something incredibly stupid (and since it's an
action rather than
data I don't think it would be very likely as a symptom of bad RAM).
Since (I assume) you haven't upgraded or anything, and that it's a clean install, the copy of Win7 is probably suspect. Get a newer or different copy of Win7... or just buy it and wait a few months, and stick with XP/VIsta in the meantime (It has just gone on pre-sale, which means you can get it extremely cheap as a pre-order)
Either that, or you're extremely unlucky, and you have a laptop which uses some obscure device with a bad default driver or something (But at least try XP or Vista first before you conclude the machine is faulty)
