It's 2520x1024, That's two monitors, so one would be 1280x1024...

That or add an option for the user to change manually.

Why limit this to computer monitors?

PC: 22" 1680x1050
TV: 21" 1360x768 (runs 720p through component though)
Phone: 3" 240x400 (records video at 640x480 (30fps) (320x240 for 120fps) and 5mp for photos)

Mine's at 1280x800. I think 1024x768 is the standard resolution though, as it seems that's the highest one can go on a lot of monitors. Anything below 640x480 is way too small. So, in games you should provide:
640x480 (Low)
800x600 (Medium)
1024x768 (High)
Autodetect (Full)

Permanoobs are awesome.

yip, I didnt' realize it , but the system I was working on had a low res so when I tested my project on a newer system I didn't get the desired results as text appeared way too small, So thought I would try and get an average screen res that will work well with most everybody.

oh and I appreciate the input guys

Currently?

1024x768 on my extended monitor, the maximum it'll go is 1280x1024, but my monitor flickers on that setting (because it'll only run at 60hz and my monitor prefers it at 75hz, which it can't do at anything about 1024x768)

On my Widescreen laptop display, 1366x768 - it's the highest it'll go.

My comp is at 1600x900 on a 22 inch LCD. My cellphone is 240x150 and my iPod is 320x240. Oh, and my laptop is 800x600, it's an old beast, a pentium 2 and 64Mb of RAM.

You should have your game detect every resolution supported and give an option to choose from any of them.

This is the number one reason to make your game 3D. Even for the UI - use 3D panels and billboards etc.

That way, your game can automatically scale to the current resolution (because 3D space is consistent across resolutions) rather than having different coordinate sets (and manual image scaling)

The 3D models themselves will scale, but the textures will not look good scaled up. Most games will use different UI art and textures for their models for different resolutions, especially if there's a large jump between the lowest to highest resolutions.

Yeah, but if your textures are high enough res by default, it'll look fine (this works well on my project by having 128x128 textures for fairly small objects. Expanding from 1280x -> 1920x screen resolution and it looks great). Unless you have tons of assets (and high res defaults aren't practical) in which case yeah - multiple texture sizes etc. will be needed.

Obviously it depends on what kind of UI and game objects you have though (e.g. repeating texture buttons vs. really complex elements)

Desktop: 1920x1080I HDMI Full RGB
Crysis: 1280x720P
SPORE: 1280x720P
FPS Creator: 1024x768
FPS Creator X10: Auto (1920x1080), hurts my framerate but I still maintain a playable speed .
Overlord: 1920x1080I - All Very High Specs , little lag

There are more games, but they normally use 720P by default .

I used to use 1024x768, but then I got a nice LG monitor with really good colors and contrast ratio, and I have it set to 1440x900 now and I love it.
