You might be able to run a copy of XP through virtual PC or something, don't know the extent of DX support though. (assuming you have an intel mac)

I know that newer MACS can have Windows installed directly to them (since they switched processors). My friend had a mac book that he set up to have both OS's installed (Windows XP and Mac). So yes, you should be able to, but you would need windows to run the exe's (I think macs use a different style executable).
