Just need some maps/levels.

Okay, So I lost my other thread so i thought i'd make another.

To enable the cheats, hit enter during play, and enter:

UNGA - Play as an Imp.
HAPPY - LOADS of bullets.
FIREPOWA - All weapons.
LIFE - Restores all life
GOD - God mode.
ALLKEY - All keys.
OPENALL - Opens all the doors on the level.

Check that out.


Control opens doors...

WORKING ON
Dying?!(You can die but its not animated...)
Missions/levels(will work on next, there is one level plus endless mode..)
TIMER?!? (O_o)
More Types Of Enemies
Online Multiplayer Support(Jumped ahead, to work on this)

And yes, i am going to incorporate multiplayer, even if i can only do it over LAN.

@DD- I thought I told you to change that pink floor!

BTW the game crashes when you beat the first level. Also, you should have a different graphic for locked doors. The Doom music is a little noobish, too. Great engine though!

Yeah, you need texture tiles. For now, just go with grey.

When a door needs a key, use a locked door image, or color it the color of the key.

Umm the game doesn't work for me. Is there supposed to be a way to get out of the room you start in or is that the whole entire game? Also, how come the bullets go through the walls and I can walk partly into the wall?

@AcP2142- He forgot to say in the instructions that you use CTRL to open doors. You might want to think about that, DD!

Will upload build 6 2morrow, and i'll fix the collision for the player, i thought it was ok but....

heres a good site full of various texture tiles, just copy + paste the image into paint then find the 32*32 tile or tiles you want

Sorry for the double post but some new information regarding the game has come to light. I played the game with the knowledge that using ctrl would open doors. The game is usable now but the fact still remains that the bullets SOMEHOW(I have no idea how so don't ask me.) go through walls. They must be some really amazing bullets to do that. Also I am still able to walk partly in the wall and doors. I also found a bug... I was able to walk through the door that requires the red key on the first level without the key. Everything was great... I was able to get the shotgun(maybe it was a rifle) and I had a jolly time in there but I wasn't able to get out. I saw that as a minor problem.

Really? I couldn't manage that...

It's looking good, the only thing I would say is that after I completed the level (well, I think I did), I moved over this green panel and into a vast expanse of pink. I think there must be more to the level, as I got to the other side and there seemed to be more corridors running up and down. I couldn't find an entrance at the "top" so I headed downwards, kept going, and after about a minute I got "Runtime Error 7".

Other than that, it looks great - I especially like the new enemies, it's nice that they look zombie-ish instead of a clone of the player's character! I definitely thionk you should change the pink to something more floor-like - I noticed in levels, the image 1.bmp, that might work well.

Oh, and slightly offtopic - I really like the midi's, but where did you find them? I only ask because I've been on the lookout for new midis for a while, as I kept playing with the ones that came with DBC and converted them to mp3's using SynthFont and a load of SoundFonts I downloaded from the internet.

OK, the game is really good though. I like the AI and everything else looks good but those bugs just really take away from the greatness of the game. I can't wait until Build 6. If you fix the bugs then it should be a great game.

I cant belive it! I've Done it!
Good news!

Multsync has enabled...............MULTIPLAYER!!!!!

I've got a small subroutine that will pass up to players 4 players' cordinates, and display them!

The only problem, is that the last "client" to join cant see anyone else......

On the downside, everyone has the same teamcolor, and the games a tad slow.

Build 6 will be up WITH MULTIPLAYER SUPPORT(Possibly even detecting bullet collision,too!), Provided there arent too many bugs.

Because of this, I'm gonna upload Bulid 6 in about.......3 days or so?

It'll work over Lan, i think.

I'll post up two example Programs(client and server). Give me 30 seconds .

Run Server, Then Client. Position them side by side, then move the box and watch it mmove in the other. Cool,Huh?

Same here. Might I suggest you use the actual position of the boxes, not the movement, though? It throws it off a little.

@ DD

This is a crazy idea that just popped into my mind, but did you ever use Project64k? It is an N64 emulator for netplay, and it uses a dll for a client. I uploaded the emulator, why don't you check out the dll called "kailleraclient.dll" in the same directory as the emulator? It may be useful, or it may just be a crazy idea...
