Nah, it wasnt.

I FIGURED IT OUT, I THINK. I HAD TO ROUTE THE CLIENT TO MY DIRECT IP ADRESS.....

And try this one, i worked out a bug.

Hey! I know what it is now. The guy i tested it with; his computer is on my dad's Lan.

So, all along, its only been working for a Lan, and not the Wan.........Dang, i'll look into that dll comet was talking about and see if i can manage Wan.....

That must be pretty depressing DD. I can't wait until you get it up and running though. Even LAN support is good to have in a game. I wish you luck in your adventures to the land of WAN.

Say,thanks. I'm experimenting with a mate in another city; we have somthing, but its Extremely slow and glitchy.

we can see each other moving, but it often fails after a few seconds.....

also, I had to route him to my Direct Ip, And i had to make a special sever to route myself to his. Thats a problem in itself.

Thanks, I will keep on trying; i've made enough progress to keep myself motivated.

Yeah the game is really coming along. It would be a shame for you too give up now when you are so close to creating something amazing. I am sure you will eventually be able to come up with a system to get WAN working and when you do it will be fantastic. I will be able to play this game with my friends even in different cities!!! I do hope you make some progress in the next few days and good luck on build 6!

Sigh. Hey. I've got that build 6. Theres pretty much no change,single player, but Multiplayer, it should work, roughly.

Oh, i changed the floor.

If someone will help me,.....
Here, try this.....
I'll get my sever active, and we will test this together. Post before you try to connect up. In game, goto "play multiplayer mode", then hit join game.

OK. Hey all who've been watchin' this thread.

Ok. The Multiplayer system - it works.

The only Drawback is, you have to know your Ip adress(if you plan to host),or you have to know the Ip of the host to connect. It Should work over the net now that it asks you for the ip of the host, and, if you're hosting, your Ip. so, Try, with me,with others you know, or on a Lan with family and tell me if it works.

Only the executable is uploaded; i haven't changed much in the way of graphics....

OK, you need to post an updated version of the entire game, with the new executable. Also, you should have a dedicated server set up and have the game connect to that by default.

EDIT: It crashes with a system error when I go to host!

Gah.....i'm close to it but far from it.

I'm gonna stop temporarly on the multiplayer, so that i can polish the game, and add more levels. I'm getting quite frustrated with this atm, and I'm gonna finish the single player aspects of the game before i return.........

@TheComet- A word of wisdom: don't experiment with drinks and then go posting on the internet.

Anyways, I tried the new update, and I did find it to be very similar to the previous version. Once you fix your netcode, I think it can qualify as a working online shooter, if you want to host a masterserver. Also... Nope, I think that about covers everything.

Yea anyway, i added collision detection for the exploding barrels,for u and the enemys, a new type of enemy(play endless mode), and improved some small,behind the scenes stuff. the new demo runs about...50 fps faster wit the cap off.
