Hi,

I have been working very hard on this side project. And the results are pretty cool, i know i say this myself, i am just a little impressed with myself. /End Ego

As you all know the actually events are played in one single room. And therefore i need alot of triggers, so i decided to make a new trigger system, giving you more possibilities and greater flexibility, then the normal segment zones. Anyway, with this system i have made, i can speed up my progress.
(Alot of effects have been implented into 1507.)

I want to keep everything secret till the day is born. (17th)

So sorry guys, I promise you that it is alot cooler to play without having seen shots of the room. So stay tuned.

Although i can give you the story, probably tonight.

Greets,

Red Eye

1507

Ultimate Contest Entry

Game Name: 1507

Description: - This is a side project I have been working on. -

Time of Working: 71 Hours minus 20(bugfixing) (Really hard time with FPSC.)

Name of Creator: Red Eye

Creators E-Mail Address: rd.redeye@gmail.com

Story Line: (Based on a Book Story.)

After he lost his daughter, the afterlife became his obesession.
The cynical and skeptical writer Ronald Brook writes books evaluating supernatural phenomena in hotels, graveyards
and other haunted places, usually debunking the mystery.
But after years of searching he no longer believes.
While writing his last book, he travels from Los Angeles to New York to spend one night in the evil room 1507 of a Hotel,
which is permanently unavailable for guests. The reluctant manager Mr. Gerald Olin objects to his request and offers an upgrade,
expensive booze and finally the reports relating the death of more than fifty guests along decades in the cursed room.
However, Ronald threatens Mr. Oiln, promising to sue the hotel, and finally checks in the room.
Along the night, he finds that guests of room 1507 can check out when they like, but they can never leave the room alive.

Download Link: Room 1507

Custom: 90%

FPS Rate: 50-60

Version of FPSC: V1.16

Mod Used: Project Blue 1.7

Additional notes: I considered this as a side project but it became more then just that. (Other Projects: SoulIsland, OrigineEngine, The Black Bird.) I had alot of problems, maps that just couple of days before deathline had to be complete made all over again, things were lost.(So it is not my best.) But I believe it turned out okay. The last day is that hardest one. Pressure on your head. Fingers Crossed, hoping that you wont be awaken by the computer with the next debug error, while you take your build snap. Doing real life things. Been hard. But also thanks to mates like DJMaster - Mark - Mark - Robert - Apple Slicer - Jake - Paul122 - Deca - Ben - and a bunch of others that supported me. I succesfulyl build everthing up and bugfixed it all.
That is what i hope atleast. Added alot of new things to FPSC (features), like a whole new trigger system (wich gives more flexibility, and will speed up making you game (i may release it)), and alot of new things you can see in-game. Enjoy.

Extra InGame Credits:
- DJMaster: Animating Weapon Molotov and Axe for me.
- Apple Slicer: For making the water falling down decal.
- Mark de Boer: 2 Tables that he made for me a time ago.

Known-Problems:
-The Sound-Ingame, doesnt work. All sound effects work. But the music In-Game doesnt work. (No Fix - Probably v1.16 problem.)
It did in test game, not in build game. -

License: You may not use the contents of the above download link (posted by me). If you do without asking permission, i will contact a mod. If you want to use it in your projects, contact me. And I know alot of people around other forums, so if you try and copy and paste it over for some pocket money, I will contact the mods there.

I see great entry's so far. Now I have time to get back into engine coding, setting up my website online, and 3d art and a bunch of other things. And I will play all of your entry's buddys.

That is it for now,

Red Eye

I loved this game. All the scary thingies were awesome! Everything was custom except stock lamps and teh vent. Oh and the po´hone. But it has some bugs here and there. Some buds came up at the wrong time. I was in the bathroom and it said: In the window, Is that me? thing. And there was someting else. Like it took the fire thing into the vent with him. And I could go in the vent without that axe, becouse I could walk throught those planks. BBut it was the best!

Is there any way for me to et that girl? Gonna sell it in TGC Store or give it away or something. You should make a hotel pack, you know.

Ha, indeed i played that part over with no axe, and you are right. One bug found I guess.

BtW; what you meant by po'hone. Dunno what that means?

I am making a thread and setting up everything, to realease a pack.

That girl i made a retexture for. And indeed the wall lamp i didnt made.

@Maz426: thanks mate, and yeah . But thanks buddy.

Just becouse of the scares. The window thingie and the room starting to fill with water, the rain, the hotel feel, all that was custom, nice hud work, sounds, seeable body! All that! I'd really like to get that girl....

@Red Eye: I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the review I'm sending The Next for judging, but I give your game a 9 out of 10. This stands out as a great FPSC game. You're definitely in the running for top 3, at least with me.

I played it and finished it!

This is by far the coolest game I've played made with FPSC! And I've been around since 2005!
I loved every bit, except for the axe!
I don't know how you made like 70% of the effects and scripts!

It's a small review, but I think this game is worth a 9/10!!!

Give us more!

PS: loved how you can look down and see the players legs. Very very nice!

I need some guidance. I have got to the part where I walked into the bathroom and he was talking about himself in the window across the street, and I have walked around all the rooms and walked up to the axe's like 50 times. Can someone, in a code snippet, tell me what I should do?

EDIT: Ok, out of nowhere it started working... But is the ending supposed to just end like this:

Is it supposed to end like this?

@darimC: Hey, Yeah was strange ending he? Well. I had to remake that map 3 times, because of the crahses. When i amde that map i had everything went in flames. And everything was crashing down on you. And you would here your girl again. But then the police would appear, and you would here the room scream. (now that is what i had first). But then i began bugfixing level 123 and then by level 4, ALL WAS CRASHE, he didnt open any map for me anymore. Only level 123. so i had to remake a bit of leve 1 and 3 and remake the whole level 4. So at the ending i skipped alot, and just did that it would give you a little idea that it would go in flames. O well.. It turned okay, i believe.

@Metal : I will send ASAP. when i got some time left.

I gave this a download and it wouldn't run properly. I was so looking forward to playing this as well.

It loads up (cool loading screen btw), then it has lines across the screen and I can't see anything. I can only hear myself jump as well.

Any fixes for this?

Hey thanks. But has you are the only one with this issue i dont see how i could fix this. It can be your graphics card though (Full Screen Shader System). Post your specs and let me take a look.

If it is his graphics card, he should be able to bypass the full screen shaders by setting "fullscreenshaders" in the Mod.ini file to 0. That should prevent any full screen shaders from apearing in the game, but IMHO the game just wouldn't be the same without 'em.

I played the game, and I got stuck in the room, at the part where you look out the window. It said "...me?!" and then the message faded away without anything happening... I played it a second time and it happened again, but after a bit of walking back and forth I got it to trigger the scene.

Aside from that one disturbance in gameplay (and being able to jump through the ceiling), I thought it was a great game!! Everything seemed to be well thought out and nicely put together!

You had great use of the FS3, I was very happy to see that! I was not, however, expecting anyone to use a BETA of Project Blue to enter a competition. Shame on you Though, I can't prohibit it since we never said you couldn't, I think it's a tad unfair to everyone else who doesn't have access to it.

All in all great presentation! When the game actually worked properly, I felt it was one of the best experiences I've had playing an FPSC game.

The one and only,

@plystire i dont mean no disrespect but i disagree. i think its fair that he made use of the mod. even if some of us had a access to the mod would we still have a ideal how to use it like redeye.no. if anything redeye gets credit for a very good ideal. this took time to put this together like the way he did. as far as unfair gos its unfair that lee dont give fpsc features like this that will allow us to do more with fpsc. i say it time again performance is the key. even n64 allow more object and characters on a level. but maybe to be fair project blue full version should be free. then if anyone want more features then a pro version should be made for buy. we all have good ideas for a game but our ideals are limited when it come to fpsc. what redeye did was a break thru. it says if fpsc was open like this without a mod or the migration. but one way to clear the air is to allow project blue to be free for everyone. no pro version just a full feature version for free. i say why not people like cosmic p has been putting models pack on here for free. it will be a great way to see how far we can take fpsc to the next level.

@plystire: Thanks buddy. Much Appreciated, i do understand what u mean, but on the other side, i believe that i disagree people using efxmod. If you understand what i mean. (though it is pretty a crappy mod[efxmod]), but thanks for the comment buddy.

@michael x: thanks for the support, but i understand what plystire said, but thanks mate for the further nice comments

@KeithC: It is known that the fullscreenshadersystem doesnt work on all the ATI graphic cards. But maybe Kerrby also has one and he fixed, maybe he can explain u how he did it.

@Kerrby: Ok, But that is a big WOW. How the hell did you manage to do that. Anyway as the most already played it, here yah go:

Spoiler:

Well everyone managed to do that.

About the roof issue, i am going to test that .

But good luck. And dont forget to delete the testlevel folder in the levelbank folder in the files folder of the 1507 dir.

Everything should work out,

Allright, sorry it took me a while Finally got around to playing this. Gotta say, it was one of the best experiences
I have ever had with FPSC
It wasn't able to scare me though, i watched 1408 too recently

Had the problem everyone else had with the "is that..me!?" part.
As well as i was able to walk through the boards without breaking them in the last level
The loading music reminds me a lot of Fable 2 which i love
I think the "don't you love me anymore?" part woulda been a bit creepier if the girl wasn't in that goofy crucifix pose
I wish the background music would play cause it fits so perfectly with the game

Ahh, enough nitpicking at you It was a great game, albeit a bit short
The custom media, the blinding bloom, the scare tactics , all of it was used well and made the whole experience fun to play.
