Well, how old are you to start? If less than 18, just say you can't say. I'll tell you though that befriending people of the opposite sex is a good start. Generally love is easier to come by if you know a potential that you like and visa versa.

I don't understand...

I do sometimes, but that doesn't seem to get me anywhere.

That's what I think when I give up.

Where'd you hear that? Anyways, I'm 16, so I don't think it's really an issue.

Yes, if you're worrying about something like this when you are 16, something is not right...

Aha, teenage angst! Love never lasts in high school because kids don't know what they want in a relationship. Wait until you go to college at least, by then you'll be able to laugh at this silly thread.

There's a rule on this forum that you're not supposed to post your age if you're under 18...

Seriously, don't worry. If you're under 18 you've got plenty of time. Just befriend some girls, and at some point you'll either be good enough to find the right one, or you may find you already have. And if you're going to college/uni, you have NOTHING to worry about. If you have no gf by the age of 22, then you still don't need to worry. Once you're 30 if you've had no intimate relationship, then either you're socializing with hardly anyone, or are making no effort whatsoever. And in college you'll be hard pressed not to find people to socialize with. That's where you find most of the nerds and geeks, especially the girl ones. Really, if you have friends of the opposite sex, you're almost guaranteed to find someone eventually. And girls like to hook their single male friends up with people, even if it's not them. At least that's my experience...

But anyways, don't sweat it. Here's another question- would you consider yourself a good person, and/or a good friend?

It's such a rarity for that to happen, Flashing Snall, it's really not worth mentioning, People change as they mature and become hormonally-guided missiles, I mean adults, and these changes can move what someone is from what the other wants and what someone wants from what someone is.

The age 18 thing is sort of an unwritten rule I think. It was a decision made a while ago under the "mod-discretion" clause but they never actually changed the AUP to reflect it.

Not to pick on Brick Break but is this instant gratification society we now live in a result of his attitude? I see kids all the time buying a new game and getting the walkthrough book at the same time. Back when I was a kid the fun was finishing the game on my own without cheats/walkthroughs (I still believe that).

Finding the right girl takes a lot of patience and a strong will to never give up finding the future Mrs. Brick Break. Don't ever be afraid of rejection... if you're too afraid to ask a girl out for fear she'll reject you... you'll never find anybody.

I hate when my friends do that. I have an older brother who lived the good days, and shed the light down to me so that I didnt become caught up in the frenzy as much. Results of this influence
-Never ever cheat
-Hate pokemon with a bitter passion
-Know the classics

Its amazing how much older sibblings can influence people. He was in the army for awhile, and I went to visit him at a cookout one of his mates was having. All of his army pals laughed at me for just how much I acted like he did.

EDIT:
but it help Brick Break out a bit. Go take a walk man. I was sorta having a desperate situation recently. I took a walk, in the pouring rain with lightning storms coming in. It helps clear the mind. Calm yourself down, and chill your ***s.

If it really was who you are, you'd be content right now. You started this thread and you're actually receiving some very sound advice. Take it from a guy that's be single for a LOT longer than you, women are not worth the stress at ANY age, especially not yours. Also, they are evil spectres of Satan that only want one thing: the booty.

WoW is an infectious disease. I dont know, the Pokemon show came out when I was in, or just before I was in Kindergarden, and I despised it. The trading cards came out soon after, and I hated those too, never took anypart in them. The games themselves came out when the gameboys came out, which must have been soon after the cards. I never played the games because how could I enjoy a game that I hated everything about? Never having played the games, I saw my friends play them, and they looked VERY stupid next to Diablo, Starcraft, Duke Nukem, and Command Keen. My hatred for Pokemon has gotten me yelled at and even got me the silent treatment for a day onetime. It resurfaces from time to time, and people go on spurts of playing the games for days on end until they beat them or get as far as they can I guess. They just seem.... stupid.

Video games, walkthroughs, dates and the mentioning of RPGs...this is one thread that has many subjects!

@Brick Break:

Trust me when I say that girlfriends are troublesome when you're this age...I'm just a couple of months away from being able to post my age legally on the boards...but yeah, when you're a teenager 'love' is just troublesome. A couple of years ago I panicked because I was 15 and didn't yet have a girlfriend. So what did I do? Talked to as many girls as I could, and whichever one I found out liked me I suddenly 'liked' them and they became my girlfriend. Where did this get me? No where, honestly. After having three girlfriends in the last two years I've decided that dating just isn't a good idea right now, at least for me.

So my point is, don't panic, and don't fall under the mindset that you 'need' a girlfriend to survive. Yes, you may want one right now, but the truth of the matter is that it's worth the wait for the right person. I speak from experience.

@Grog:

I also believe that finishing a game without a cheat guide is the only way to go. However a couple of years ago I could not get past a level in a game, so I looked it up online. I remember the answer was so blindingly obvious that I sort of hated myself for looking it up...oh well. Ya' live and learn.

@Flashing Snall:

You take a lot of walks, don't you? I agree that they help clear out the mind, I take walks when I'm extremely upset about something or just need to relax. It definitely helps, and it's healthy! Can't complain about that.

I've never played Pokemon, but I kind of want to...just to say that I'm like the average 'geek'. Hehe

...And you're only 16. It's extremely unlikely that you'll find the "right person" at your age (although not entirely impossible). Heck, it's even possible that a girl you know right now could be "the one", but you'd have no way of knowing that at this point in your life. Seriously, don't lose hope. You're only 16. There's still PLENTY of time.

Brick Break, you are a basket of joy. The day you come around and see the happy side of life, will be a brilliant one. If you look for things to piss and moan about, you will find them. Everyone has problems. If you accept the problems in your life, and move onto the good things, and ways to correct to problems, I promise you will have a better bang for the buck in the big game of life.
