DarkBASIC can use models, images, sound, music, anything you can make in an external program, and bring it all together in a game. It is a programming language, like you said, but a very powerful one that is capable of anything you want to use it for. No, it doesn't have an internal modeler, but if you export a .X or .3DS file from your modeling program, you can use it in DarkBASIC with the LOAD OBJECT command.

WINNER list:
Latch, Lee Bamber, TDK
Thanks for the help!

ITS A PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE!!!!

ITS PURPOSE ISNT TO MAKE MODELS OR IT WOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED A MODELLING SOFTWARE, IF YOU BOUGHT DBC THINKING IT COULD MODEL THEN YOU SIR NEED TO LEARN TO READ!!!

btw nice winner list BB, lol

Yep. Just as BB said.

What model maker do you have on your computer? Try this:

1) Start your model maker
2) Make a simple object in your model maker (cube, cylinder, cone, plain)
3) Go to "File" and click on "export".
4) Somewhere you will see an option called "Direct X" or ".x" or something with an "x".
5) Export it in that format and call it "object.x"
6) Close your model maker
7) Open DarkBasic, create a new project folder "model_test"
8) Save your code in that folder as "model_test.dba"folder
9) Make sure the model you exported is in the same folder as your code
9) Use this code:

And see if you can see the model.

For music and sound look at these commands:

load music
loop music

load sound
loop sound
set sound speed
set sound volume

music supports mp3, wma, xm and midi files (And something else I forgot)
sound supports mp3, and wav, and probably more...

Textures:

load bitmap
delete bitmap

load image
get image
delete image

texture object
scale object texture

supports bmp, png, jpg

These are just very basic commands.

Quote: "Star Wraith (1999-2000)
Star Wraith was my first 3D capable space game. It took about 6 months to develop the project from a simple tech demo with a space background and one planet to a playable game. It was written entirely in DarkBasic and featured fully animated explosions, 3D spherical radar display, 3D textured models, and a dynamic campaign. Because this game used DirectX, it also supported a variety of game controllers and ran in Windows. I made this game when I decided to start working more on game development and SW3DG was formed. "

Straight from the website. darkbasic can be the most amazing thing ever, you just have to know how to use it.
