I came home from work, turned the thing on, and promptly heard a really bad noise coming from the power supply fan. I immediately turn the computer off and pull it out to find...

roach parts... splattered on the wall... and hanging off the grill...

I did what I thought I had to do. I pulled out power supply and took off the cover. Luckily no more roaches save for the parts of the one that tried to come out were in there. I cleaned out the power supply, the grill, the fan and the wall and put the thing back together.

But the smell is probably gonna linger for a week... ewww...

In the beginning there was nothing. There'll be nothing in the end...

That's why you should never wake up before the afternoon.

I don't know how you guys cope with those things, if I found them in my kitchen I couldn't sleep until I killed every last one!

The worst I've found in a PC was a wasp, they thought their fan was dying so called me!

lazerus, my bets are on Benjamin, he's a cat who seems to like poo very much.

Yes, I've had multiple MSN conversations with that cat that ultimately end in the subject of "poo" if they last longer than a minute.

One time, I opened my computer to find something horrendous! DUST! The dust was so disgusting, I had to get a spray can full of liquid air to clean it.

About 10 years ago I fixed a computer for a friend of mine and inside was a bunch of roach corpses... and one was fried to a crisp in the cd drive. They kept their computer in the kitchen.

I've had a moth explode by flying into my spinning CPU cooler fan. It was so cool.

All due seriousness, when my computer was in the basement, I used to find spiders, dead spiders, and spiderwebs in my computer. I had to contently clean it because there were so many webs in the fans, they started to not work... My comp in now upstairs and the problem has subsided.

This is disgusting! I've never found anything in my computer! Guess that means I'm not geeky!

But I'm considering keeping my PC constantly running to avoid the roaches!

I don't care who you are or where you keep your computer. Roaches are disgusting and should NOT be allowed to live in your house. ESPECIALLY in the kitchen.

Gross, gross, gross, gross.

I have a better idea. I've installed fine wire mesh screen (the kind you find at the hardware) over the holes in the computer large enough for roaches to crawl into. I can turn off my computer and know that I won't find anything like that in my box anymore. Now if I could keep the ants out...

In the beginning there was nothing. There'll be nothing in the end...

Rule 1: Never kill a Roach. For each eveyr on that u kill an whole army of roaches invades your house! DId you guys know that the only reason a roach dies when you chop off his head is that he can't eat without it?

Soo... they say for every roach you find in your house there are 100 more somewhere...

the only things i have in my house (and in my computer XD) are spiders and dust.

On an off note... i found a dead roach in my house once, so i think that mean 100 roaches died... win!

WTF! That was the grossest thing I have read in a long, long time. That is so sick. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Thankfully we don't have roaches like that in our house. We do have these mammoth centipedes though once in a while. Those things give me the willies like nothing else.

If you want gross. It's still handle-able tho. Funny too, lets you realize what retail companies deal with everyday.

Had a good laugh at that - now I know why my wife gives me anxious looks when I say I'm looking for the car keys ...
