Just launched a Demo of Cold Dawn (www.cold-dawn.com) and one user has commented that he cant play it because when he double clicks on the exe, he gets a pop up of a url to a polish Dark Basic site. Very odd. Does anyone know what might be causing this - his computer specs are as follows...

Asus P5E Deluxe (X48 northbridge & ICH9R southbridge)
Intel Core2Duo E8400 (3 GHz) w/ Thermaltake MaxOrb CL-P0369
OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Platinum Edition (4GB)
Diamond ATI Radeon HD 3780 512MB PCI-E 2.0 (9.2 CCC)
Hanns-G HG191D 19" Widescreen LCD (2ms refresh, 1440x900)
SoundMAX SupremeFX II sound card
Razer Lachesis (programmable, illuminated mouse, 4000dpi, 1000hz polling)
Razer Lycosa (programmable, illuminated keyboard, 1000hz polling)
Windows XP OEM w/ SP3 (locked down)

What version of the game is he using?
Do you know of others who have tested the same version?
Are there people who have since downloaded the version without problems?

The fact it goes to a DB site is a bit odd and makes me think it's not something already on his PC, more likely someone got into your site and planted the link. I'm no expert on the subject though so I could be totally wrong!

Have you since downloaded the game yourself?
What is the polish website?

@Hangar18

Ask the customer if they are trying to run it through an emulated windows environment such as wine in linux.

Enjoy your day.

@dark dragon - no he wasnt able to play - the url link was all he got

@Obese: thats a worry but hopefully not the case. It just seems odd its taking him to a polish dark basic site. Maybe TGC used a polish developer at somepoint and something has gone haywire with DB

@latch thanks, I've asked him and will post back here once I know more.
