LVL4

LVL5

LVL6

Story:

"|The man that stood alone" is based off the same idea as the movie, "I Am Legend". The Time is 3234, three star systems exist known to man, three different races exist, Man, and two other Alien type races that are mysterious and unknown to man... but Man will soon find that these mysterious race will come out to show man who they are. They will show man there advanced technology and there strength. Man has reached a newer technology which clones one man to another version of the same man physically and mentally they are exactly the same. Man uses this technology to create its strength and numbers.

Three races are now finally meting for the first time. The player plays as the character, John Patterson as a marine in the UNSC&C deep in space, far from home. The player fights to keep his race alive.

I love it, it's not clean, not overpopulated with entities, you enclosed the player while giving freedom, there's plenty to look at, and if you made a bunch of original weapons and stuff, you could sell it at the store and NO ONE would know its FPSC ('cept me but I'd buy it anyway)

Those screenshots look absolutely incredible. Just about the best I've seen in FPSC. Very well done Pain, I'm very impressed.

However, I'm not fond of the story at all.

Quote: ""|The man that stood alone" is based off the same idea as the movie, "I Am Legend". The Time is 3234, three star systems exist known to man, three different races exist, Man, and two other Alien type races that are mysterious and unknown to man... but Man will soon find that these mysterious race will come out to show man who they are. And you used the word "man" too many times lol.

Signature's are stupid.

Looking nice, but here are some tips;

1: Ditch the red skybox, it kinda looks garbage.
2: To take screens, build the game and up the resolution to w=your monitor's native res. That makes it look far better.
3: Keep it up.

@ Jenkins:
Thanks!!
I am going to work on the story and edit the word "man" out with a more proper word.

@ Toasty Fresh:
Thanks so much!!!

And i'll keep all three of those tips in mind...

Yeah I agree. The skybox doesn't look to good.

Apple Slicer is right. It does have a very Halo 3esque to it. I think it looks incredible. Can't wait for a demo.

@ rakker126:

I used the default settings for now. Because, every time I bumped the light map quality or anything else up it would cause errors. But that might be cause its such a large map and my computer just can't handle what im asking it to do...

@ Jenkins:

so far two people (including yourself) has said it doesn't look good with the red sky box.

What sky box do you think I should use?... I'll look in the media thread for some free stuff and then post a new picture.

Thanks guys, Pain

This looks fantastic man! Very well thought out, can't wait to see more

In regards to the skybox topic, I'd suggest just maybe switching the skybox in the first screenshot to the one you used in the second shot, because that one in particular looks great with the environment.

@ rakker126:

The average load time is 1-2 mins i really haven't timed it yet, but when I actually build it then I will, and thank you again.

@ Branden 713:

Yeah I also think the night sky does blend well, but I plan on trying a few different sky box's first then ill make the decision...
and thank you!!

@ AdrianoJones Wannabe:

I just want to say, Awesome name!! and thank you!!

I think that a nice blue-er sky would compliment the level well. Other colors can be nice, but not in this situation.

Very Halo-ish. Will the enemies be short, idiotic, suicidal, ugly, spiky-armored aliens?

I think if the ambient light was just a tad less white, and maybe a smidge more of a tan-ish color, that second new skybox (in the last post you have) would be perfect
Just my opinion though.

Man this sucks. How can you guys like this. I mean, this game has well placed entities, a thought out storyline, and uses Cosmic Prohpet entities. Cosmic Prophet packs of all things! Come on. This should be nominated for worst of the worse! Now this game,

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=65802&b=25

is one I would buy. That should be the default line of any FPSC game.[sarcasm off]

Great job on the game Pain. You have realy outdone yourself (not to mention you have outdone me as well!). I must agree with everyone else on the skybox issue, but other then that, it is like the FPSC incarnation of Halo. If you have some extra time, could you possibly check out LV21's thread. The link is on my signiture. Some C&C would be thanked!

Can you save the crew of LV21?

I like the second level, It keeps me guessing, I'm glad it's the same quality as level 1, so many games have a really great first level, but kinda wane after it. you keep up the quality.
