I saw this movie yesterday, and it was awesome!
Quote: "Just snuck into see it with my younger brother"
I don't know if that was literal, but i really did sneak in to see it. Me and my friend went to buy tickets, but the lady said that we had to be over 17 to buy tickets to an r rated movie. So my mom came and asked to buy the tickets, but the lady said we had to be accompanied by someone over 25 years old during the movie. After that, we snuck around, and snuck in the back door when someone left the theatre. I know it's illegal, but... we were willing to pay, and that lady was a jerk!
after that... it was awesome! When the movie started out, it almost seemed like a thriller, but the storyline developed very nicely. What i really liked about the movie was that...
The main character's main traits didn't ever really change.
When he escaped from MNU, he wasn't a badass runaway all of
a sudden. He retained his nerdy traits
But there were several inconsistencies...
During the beginning, all the military/mnu personnel seemed like
regular people, like policemen you might find randomly on the
street. As the movie progressed, they became more and more cliche.
They all became these tanned buff guys with short spiked hair.
One thing that confused me was whether wikus was good or bad. He
loves his wife and has strong family morals, but he only cares
about them, and getting back to normal, which is selfish. He also
knocks out the main alien character out of anger. Then, contradicting
this, he selflessly holds off the army while the alien gets to the
ship.
All in all, i thought it was AWESOME. with capital LETTERS. AWESOME.
The swearing didn't bother me too much, I think I've become desensitized to swearing, with swearing at my school, at movies, on tv, in magazines, and everywhere i go, it's hard not to be.
