So I am a senior this year, and I am considering dual enrollment.

For those who does not know what dual enrollment is, it is when you got to High School and College at the same time at a highly discounted price.

I am thinking about Metro Community College, because it is rather cheap and allows me to get some of the basics covered before going to actual college.

I am wanting to go to this course:

http://www.mccneb.edu/catalog/coursedescriptions/transform.aspx?discipline=INFO&course=1522

Along with it's pre-req:

http://www.mccneb.edu/catalog/coursedescriptions/transform.aspx?discipline=INFO&course=1003

And it's Pre-req:

http://www.mccneb.edu/catalog/coursedescriptions/transform.aspx?discipline=INFO&course=1001

Anyone have any ideas or want to share your possible experience with Dual Enrollment?

(BTW, I am in AP Calc this year, so if you say study up on math, way ahead of ya.)

Do it. I did it at CCAC when I was in high school, and it helped me get out of two different classes at PTI.

I have a devious mind.

My wife teaches dual enrollment English, and says that it is greatly beneficial to the people who take it.

I didn't do dual enrollment, but I did do Vo-tech my senior year, and it was really cool to have the college credits. I took computer programming classes. Plus, I became A+ certified and had my MCSE stuff done when I got out of high school. Unfortunately, I didn't get to take C++ classes. The only thing offered at the time was Visual Basic and GUI applications. Oh wells, I'm the Access programmer/ database analyst for the state union now!

Good luck with your decision!

There's something in this room that makes you can't speak well.

I took Webpage Design (Dreamweaver) and making video games in Adobe Flash through a college online as a senior in high school.

So yes, take courses that'll fill in pre reqs at whatever uni you decide to attend.

But yes, take as many college classes as you can, you'll appreciate it.

I went to a high school/university, is that the same kind of thing? When I graduated high school I had already completed a full year of University toward my computer degree.

You can do the same in the USA. If you take AP courses and pass the AP exams, it's possible to graduate HS with an AA before even starting college fulltime. Of course, that's rare, and you have to be cream of the crop to succeed.
