Hello guys... oh... I'm so sad! Last time I wrote complaining about DBPro I said something about the images... it doesn't matter, I only know it was a problem with the trial version, then I forgot about a solution. Today I downloaded the new trial (hopping it would solve my problems from v1.03) and now nothing works. before you ask: Yes, I installed directx 9.0b. When I try to run a program that silly "dark basic trial" screen appears, after a while the other pop up with DBpro url appears... like if there was no code. Has it happened to anybody else? Could you help me? thanks... sniff

if you downloaded originaly over a month ago then it may be that your time is up, the original DB classic had no limit, but people abused that and just used the demo rather than buy the real thing, so they put more fierce limitations on the Pro demo, the url is to tell you this is where you need to go next if you want to continue using Pro, you had the try, now it`s time to buy.

yep, 30 day trail. You'll have to buy DBP now. That is if you want to keep using DBP to program with.

But I still have 29 days left... how do you explain that?
Well, since its about a week I wrote complaining about it I had time to think about it and I realized that might be a problem with the drivers... But I'm still not sure...

By the way: Even though I downloaded it a week ago, I still have 29 days because my computer clock is getting crazy... something to do with battery...

Well your clock has probably fooled DBPro into thinking that you have had it installed for months.

"today I downloaded the new trial"

says to me that you already had the old trial installed and that was available last more than a month ago, so your time starts from the first time you installed any version of DB pro, not from when you installed this version, and if your clock is playing up then the software probably thinks you are trying to fiddle the date to get more time and has locked you out.

I still have 10 days of the old trial...
Besides thet I still have 29 days of the new one.
I heard that there is a kind of problem with the sis 530 drivers. I think they don't work with directx 9.0b.
And if it were a problem with the time when I did the download probably I'd see that screen saying: "restore the date from at least (month, day) of 2003" I that doesn't happen!

then update to Win98 SE think win98 standard isn't really supported anymore in dx9 (dx10 won't support anything lower than ME i think)

I want dx9 working in order to have dbp working and develop a 2d game...

I didn't know it would make any difference, but I'm already using win98 SE.
Now, could anybody please help me! If the problem is to talk about dx9 problems on the 2d forum, I can move to another topic. But tell me why, whyyyyyy this happened to me!!!

I have had the same problem with the trials and with DArkMatter. To solve it do this:

Un install all things related to the DBPRO Trial. Then download it again and reinstall it and it should work.

Don't take this wrong, but if you like DB and you are interested in programming in it. Why not just buy the full version!? Rather than piddle around with a bug ridden trail version.

just MHO... it's not like DB is expensive.

Oh well, I hope you can get things working if you do decide to continue with the trail.

I've got DB Classic and PS Skillz and I'm not afraid to use um!
