Nope, you are the only one in the world to do GCSEs this year.

But seriously, Good Luck with the results! I can still remember going for mine. It gets worse at A level, but at Uni its not really as nerve racking.
You get your results on the internet, so you don't have to go through the charade of getting ready and doing the loooooong walk to the table of dreaded envelopes!

You got any plans for Higher Education?

I could get some results on the internet but I lost the card

Staying on for sixth form and then hopefully going to Uni for Computer Science.

And without asking if anyone else did them, the post seemed very, very short.

Looks like you didn't study that much Diru. Pretty dissapointing results if you ask me.

OBVIOUSLY joking Congratulations, I would have liked results that good when I did my GCSEs.

They look good to me. Well done.

I wonder how the rest of you got on.

Diggsey's 19 minutes should be up now. Should we be getting worried for him?

Ditto here.

Wait a minute ... they didn't have GCSEs when I was at school.

I got a lot better than I expected:

9 A*s, 1 A (1% off an A* )

Really wasn't expecting anywhere near that kind of result.

No
I have to go to school to get them, I can't just miraculously teleport there and back!

5 A* (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, French, Core Science)
5 A (Statistics, English language, English literature, Design & Technology, Latin)
1 B (0.5% off an A , but it was in RS so I don't really care, LOL)

Also, it's not a GCSE, but I got an A in Additional Maths (You can't get A*!)

My 'O' Level GCE (who remembers those ) in Additional Maths was probably my worst ever Maths result.

I think it had something to do with excessive teenage over-indulgence over the preceding weekend. [No, you're not going to get the full details. ] Suffice to say that I had recovered in time for the following weekend - but I was never quite the same thereafter.

Glad to hear all the success stories. Well done to all of you.

Yes, but we don't have to do any subjects we don't want to for A level

(I'm dropping ALL essay subjects)

Just doing Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computing

Out of those I might have to do some work in chemistry

Depends on your 6th form, I did my A Levels in 6th form at school instead of college (which was perhaps a mistake) and we had to do a manditory ICT course along our A Levels, yet we got the worst teachers for it and it was boring as hell and I found a I knew everything (I did an intermediate GNVQ during my GCSEs for ICT and I'm a computer geek, so did I really need another computer class for 'basic ICT skills'?) but most of us just stopped turning up.

Awesome sauce tip: If you want to stand out from every other Comp-Sci candidate, retain your ability to write in English. Maths is "where it's at" but they certainly consider essay subjects as incredibly useful/an advantage as well (considering communication etc. is key )

He has a very good point, apparently people that judge whether you make it into uni like to see you're a varied person ie not taking all sciences. So a subject like english or another language, or something creative like Art or Tech.

I took Maths, Physics, ICT and Tech at AS, and I'm picking up (everyone else is dropping a subject) further Maths =)

A day late but...

A*
Core Science
Additional Science
Maths
English Literature
English Language
Design Technology
Art

A
German
Religious Studies
Business Studies

Pretty chuffed about those really. Quite amazed actually considering I only finished reading our English Literature book in the exam and I wrote a bunch of stuff about Judaism in the Religion exam even though I know nothing about it as we were only taught Christianity xD

Well done everybody else . Now for A-Levels x(

Yeah, and you may still be good at maths too, but you need an A-Level to prove it. My point is, keeping an essay subject around may help you more than you think
