There is an error and I think there might be a small virus on my computer, any good known programs.

(Btw the error has something to do with avgmfx86.sys)

I would recommend Spybot Search and Destroy, Avast, Clamwin Antivirus, and Malwarebyte's Antimalware. All are good programs.

I love Taylor Swift. She's awesome.

"...avgmfx86.sys is related to AVG's real-time monitor. I think this error happens if you upgraded from an older version of AVG to the latest one via the "Recommended Updates" option...sometimes the uninstallers/reinstallers are not updated when the product itself is. In this case, you should download a fresh copy of the latest version of AVG..."

I have never really had a problem with AVG, but AdrianoJones Wannabe made some good suggestions.

HijackThis is excellent when you have symptoms of a virus. It won't tell you what the virus is, but on tech support forums and stuff people can read it for you and guide you through fixing your machine.

During instillation right at the end.

It says that AVG failed to install I click details and that's the error that pop's up.

"Hi,
could you please download first latest installation file for AVG 8.5 as AVG 7.5 is expired by now:
http://free.avg.com/download?prd=afe

- Check if following file is present in your computer, don't forget hidden folders / files - if so, delete it before the installation:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\avgmfx86.sys

- The same with following registry entry (Start -> Run... -> type "regedit" without quotes -> enter):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AvgMfx86

Was the installation successful then?
"- Manager of the AVG forums

It might work. But then again, I have heard good things about avast as well.

Well that fixed like all my errors, but the avgmfx86.sys one I will still try. For now I installed Avast.

It's usefull for removing crap that's been integrated into browsers, the startup, and registry junk, but it's hardly going to remove a virus. Most will simply replace the elements HijackThis removed once the machine is rebooted, or even before. But it can help you determine if you have crap installed somewhere.
