I'll give you my words of advice...

Don't bother. You won't find any free servers to host an MMO.

Also, you're previous thread says you've never worked on a real project with DBPro. Not only is DBPro a terrible choice to create an MMO server/client with, but from what I can tell, you don't have any experience whatsoever with programming games in general, even in DBPro.

If you have no budget, then you won't be likely to succeed with an MMO anyways. It takes a team of many people, resources (such as money), a LOT of time, a LOT of patience, and much skill to successfully create an MMO.

Since you're looking for something to create for your first DBP project, look for a Pong tutorial or even try and make it yourself. You can always ask for help in the Newcomers or DBP board.

Again- do NOT try to make an MMO for 'free' by yourself as a first project. You will only find disappointment.

And what language? Eclipse is merely an IDE that can be used with almost any popular language.

You need a server to host custom software which means you'll need to get a dedicated server. And those are not free, so host from your home computer if you're just starting out.

And I'm not trying to sound mean, but...

Good luck.

they had to name it eclipse...

i think you guys don't understand. i've made lot's of games but not one worthy of a W.I.P. I've made a game of pong, an fps, racing game. but none were verry good. i am now working on a space fighter game (3d) but i wanted to make an mmo as a side project. making a mmo without knowing how to set up a simple internet server in DBPro would not be possible. making one in eclipse would be easy with a server host.

I hopeyou understand and sorry if i wasn't very clear.

So Eclipse is a game engine designed for MMOs, complete with server and editors. I gotcha!

I'd worry about creating the game first before looking for a server. In the meantime, you can, as I said, use your PC as the server for now. It should be able to handle a couple users while you build the game.
