Sorry if this topic was already posted, I only searched briefly, and found nothing
---

Anyways, the title says it - how did you come up with your forum name? Give a story, event, anything that helped you come up with it!

Here's mine:

As a child, I was always wondering -- Mario's Red, Luigi's Green -- there's no blue Mario Brother! (Don't ask )

So, my first user name ever (on MapleStory ) was 'lilbluemario' (I was a kid, hence the 'lil')

Then, I came to my *senses, and realized there's no yellow, brown, pink, orange, ...

And then I had a 'Yoshi' phase where I would play Yoshi all the time in Super Smash Bros. I decided to keep my *loyalty to Mario, and just changed my name to 'lilmarioman'. I don't know why I spaced out my name in this forum, but whatever...

Post your story!

I lost my faith at the age of 11, it seemed fitting to be called Lazerus Reborn.

Lazerus, not lazarus,

Lazarus as in the man jesus brought back to life.

Lazerus, is now the right handman of the devil. Was also brought back to life by jesus. He was then cast out by him, its unknown why but god forbade his exsistance, so he took revenge at the devils side.

Our RE teacher was very helpful in finding the stuff you normally dont get taught. Thier is so much left out of religious documents.

Dont take this as a oppertunity to flame a religious debate. I was simply giving the name's history.

As Always

I have no idea really. It was when I was making my email account, I was a huge babylon 5 fan at the time and I thought the name was funny. (Bablyon 5 = a scifi tv show).

My surname is Zotos. When I wanted to pick an email address, I picked Zotoast, because it had Zotos and toast in it at the same time, and it was funny. Toast is for eating. Toasters do all the cool stuff though.

My sophomore(?) year of high school I had the opportunity to go Freedom Academy with some people from my NJROTC unit. We met up with a lot of people from around Michigan from different schools and trained together in various military exercises and team building activities. A few times a day we sat in a large air conditioned room where we listened to some really cool speakers like the Tuskegee Airmen. It was sort of hard to stay awake during some of the speeches, especially because of the white noise from the AC and how exhausted we were, so the friend that I had made and I started drawing. He was actually a very good artist and drew a character for me that I was thinking about for a game idea of mine. He named the villain Sid Sinister, and I thought it was a cool name. So when I decided to change my name here, I chose that That guy who drew it for me now goes to West Point.

I believe that's Edward from Full Metal Alchemist. He may have made that sig though, but that's the character at least.

Eh, at the time is was the most random thing that popped into my head. So, I chose it. Randomness has never failed me before, so why would it now? And I mean come on, who doesn't love a good piece of cheesecake with a nice large juicy strawberry on top?

Of course, it killed me inside after seeing a forum member named Cheese Cake... I felt like my name was unoriginal after that...

The character in the image is not my work, but the rest of the sig is by me. Sid was right on, the character is Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist. Eventually I plan to be able to draw him, but it will be a while.

[Edit] New signature test...and yes it's the same character as before.

My name started with SOCOM: US Navy SEALs on the PS2. It was the first game that I ever played multiplayer in, and I wanted something that didn't look really dumb and that fit the style of game. My name before that (I was REALLY young) was yung_jedi, and I was getting really tired of it. So I sat and thought about it. Everyone is essentially a "gunner", or someone who uses a gun (little kid logic... go along with it), and there was a hangout spot that I used to go to called the 127. So for a long time, I was Gunner127. I got into Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory with one of the guys that I went to school with. He was the admin on this server we were playing and decided to change it to Gunn3r127. I thought the extra numbers on the end were a bit excessive, so ever since, it's been Gunn3r.

I always thought 'coughmist' was phonetically pleasing, such as 'cellar door.' Plus, I'm a musician and think that cough mist is good for a raspy voice; all in all, I think it is pleasing to the ears.

Some neat stories in here. Lazarus, have you read 'lazarus effect' from Frank Herbert? It's good stuff. As well as its predecessor, 'The Jesus Incident'.

No problem. I found both in an old bookstore for a $1. Was interested after reading a few Dune books. Although, they are different, they were great reads.

Herakles is Greek, and it means something along the lines of "Glory through Hera". It is the more correct name for the classical hero more commonly known by the Latin version of his name: Hercules. He is one of the few mortals in classical mythology to become a god.

As for how it came to be my username: well, that should be obvious.

My name is Adrian Ma, and basically "AdrianoJones" was my old forum name, and I did it by twisting "Adrian" with "Indiana Jones", and came up with the highly unique name.
For my new forum account, I just added "wannabe" to the end of my name, so it became "AdrianoJones Wannabe".

I am an overweight 87 year old...
One of my friends called me "obese" once because I am skinny and my initials are OB so it sounds a bit like obese. Then I type that in and some fat guy already took the name obese! So then I added the 87 to show that I am 87 times better than him
He hasn't posted in like 5 years! can't I just have the name?

Or I could change it to "alienfruitcake" or "blenderman".

Seppuku Arts - what I wanted to call my website for all of my game-creating stuff.

I was very interesting in Japanese history at the time and thought the concept of people regaining honour through a ritual suicide was kind of cool. Plus, 'Seppuku' is fairly catchy I think, though people often misspell it, "Seppeku", "Suppeku", "Seppu-whatever' (can't understand that one) and 'Chuck Norris', it's kind of reflective of my real name, really, "Bryn", Brynn, Brynne, Bryan, Brin, Brine, Bryanny, Beatrice...seriously, somebody read my name out as 'Beatrice', how embarrassing, mind you she was a senile old bat. Though 'Bryn' doesn't have any cool meanings, it's just Welsh for 'hill'. Still, I should have been called 'Thor'.

Oh haha, Suppeku. That's "soup-cow" in Norwegian. I can see how it would be appropriate to call you that. They're a rare breed, but they sure like their soup, and who doesn't? Nothing to be ashamed of. Stand tall, soup-cow!

I didn't know that, but it makes sense how the hill my grandparents used to live on was called "bryn" now.

Now why would you do such a thing? It's a very happy place. We even have oompa loompas singing theme songs of your choice. They are pretty cool these loompas because they don't worry too much about being law-abiding, so you can request any song you want. On fridays we offer a special tour and you may be able to purchase a very Grandma of your own. They all come with killswitches in case a specimen should prove difficult and tries to form some kind of center for research and study on the effects of excessive polka exposure. This rarely occurs, nothing to worry about.

When I started making games, I thought I had to have a title to make them under, so I first did Shadow Entertainment, and then Bizarre Entertainment. Then I found out that was the name of a DJing company, so I changed it to Bizar Games, which looked nice with a Z in the middle.

When I joined the forums, I thought naming myself after some non-existant company would be the lamest thing ever, so I called myself Bizar Guy. It seemed original and easy to remember, and to this day I've not found the name taken anywhere I register. Yay me!

I played Halo for the first time, and one of the default generated names was "The Bear". It conjured such amusing imagery in my mind that I took it as a nickname.
Also, my friends and I fooled around with QuickBasic, BlitzBasic, DarkBasic, Torque, and SourceSDK for a number of years. For the sake of having name we decided to call ourselves Crazy Donut[sic] Productions.
Hence, BearCDP. The "2" got added in because when I bought DGS I updated my email address >_<. Also, this is the reason for my half-eaten doughnut avatar.

Recently I decided to change my forum name for whatever reason. I came up with "CoffeeCoder", because nearly every time I'm sitting down on my computer and programming, I have a cup of coffee with me. Sometimes it will go cold which makes me sad, but other times I'll have it completely guzzled down in under ten minutes, which is also sad. Why can't I find a cup of coffee that lasts a half an hour and remains hot?!

My previous name (Yodaman Jer) was thought up because my dad used to say "you're the man, Jer!" so fast it sounded like "Yodaman Jer". So I just took it, because I'm not arrogant or anything. I also liked it because Yoda rules. 'Nuff said.
