Anyone here a car expert? Can anyone suggest any cars which look SIMILAR to the Ford Escort V16?

I'm looking into the possible of using some minatures for a film project and I'm looking for a SIMILAR car to the above, front or back or all, because no die cast or scale models of the Ford Escort above or any similar models in the Ford Escort family exist.

The closest I can think of is the Ford Mondeo. I am not good with identifying cars!

Mondeo is a much larger car.

Try Ford Fiesta.

Fiesta is a very different shape.

I've been racking my brains but can't think of a similar car. The Vauxhall Cavalier was similar to the Ford Cortina, the Nova was similar to the Fiesta, but the Escort lookalike...?

Ah yes, I remember it, my parents even had one - 1.6i Ghia in black
It's the most Escort-like, although maybe a little squarer than the Escort.

Im good when it comes to cars but this situation is very hard.Like Dazzag said an Orion would work but getting a scale model of an Orion is even harder than an Escort.Maybe find a big scale car online store and check for Escorts there.

It's close, but I found what I think is the REAL deal and believe me this took a LOT of searching:

How? One has a plastic stripe, the other does not. One has a rounded back window, the other does not. One has square rear lights, the other has teardrop rear lights. One is a saloon, one is a compact. The escort has much more pronounced wheel arches and side skirts.

Not to mention it's not even the same model of Escort as that Drew presented. I've got the itching feeling there's an asian car which is quite similar.

I don't think you understand the difference between "same" and "similar". He asked for similar. And the angle of the one he posted makes it hard to see the backend shape at all, so I can only guess.

Pull the back-end out of the fiesta slightly and slap on a dumb spoiler and they're pretty darn close. You can't say its a completely different shape based on a black stripe.

But you're comparing it to the wrong model of Escort and I said more than just "black plastic stripe".

It looks like this from the back:

Very different from this:

My grandfather still has his escort of this model. ^^

You're forgetting that side skirts are not necessarily specific to any car, and can and are often added to an original model of a car.
