if i try to load a WAV file with:
load sound "filename.wav",1
DB won't compile and reports can't load sound at line....
If i use one of the WAV's in the examples folder it works fine but not with one of my own WAV files.
To use one of my own WAV's i have to use:
load music "filename.wav",1
Why do DB WAV's load but my WAV's won't?

What kind of WAV file is it? WAVs can be saved and encoded many different ways. You can even save a file as WAV and be encoded as an MP3... If you are having to use LOAD MUSIC, I would guess that it is a MP3 encoded WAV...

Just a guess...

thnx for answering

you be right - i searched web & d/loaded some other WAV's and most worked ok but some didn't. The ones that won't load as sound in DB still play ok in windows sound recorder though.

ahh what I have had to do is this :~

add music file from media button in the editor, locate and check the copy to folder option on the files addition window, now the file will show as loaded but won't play what ever you try (at least what ever I tried), just save all (not sure why but I did this incase..) delete the music file you just added and re-add it from the folder your working from, now the music should load ok ?? I hope.. it did for me anyway.
