I've never been to America either but you don't have to look too hard on the internet to see this despicable relabelling from dollars to pounds everywhere.

I plan to.

It's still pretty darn good value either way. I'm a college student but I don't have the email address this requires. Probably because my college uses Macs.

As a Computer Science student, I get Windows 7 for free. Just thought I'd brag.

Bam!

There is also the free Vista-to-7 upgrade deal that some PC manufacturers have now. Too bad mine doesn't seem to be eligible (Dell XPS M1730). Oh well, I think I can afford $30. Question though: Is the October 1 thing only for the UK? Because I signed up on the US site and seem to be able to order it now.

I got it for free from TechNet, which was definitely worth it

And I would pay 30 pounds for it if I had to (I'm too lazy to figure out how to do the pound symbol on this keyboard).

So, can you buy this for 30 USD in, say, Australia? Or is it limited to these two countries?

Just bought it. Great deal! If you read the fine print it said this:

Quote: "Program Description: Eligible students are allowed to purchase one license of the product below:

1. Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium

OR

2. Microsoft® Windows 7 Professional "

Yet there was only an option for Home Premium... wonder what that's about?

Hmm....considering this....

So, since it's a download, could I burn it to a DVD to save it for backup purposes? Because I don't want to spend $13 extra just to get a backup disc when I could make one myself.

Wow I think I need to go get an email from my College! That is really a sweet deal.

Is it an upgrade only thing? Or is it a full installation thing?

I'm pretty sure it's just an upgrade.
